These cars have probably been sourced from Prodrive.

They occasionaly get left with stocks of base road cars that have not been turned into rally cars.

Because these cars were origonaly supplied at a very good price by "Subaru Japan" for the exclusive use of racing, Prodrive cannot sell them on as road cars. So they offer them out for sale at a knock down price but will not forward reg docs until they have received photographic & documented proof that a roll cage has been fitted. These cars were never meant to be on the public roads, they were destined for better things!

Prodrive were selling these cars last year for £18k new.
As you said they wouldn't register them without a roll cage being fitted. This was originally to be a full weld-in job, but they have registered cars with a bolt-in cage (i.e. easy to remove).
Owen Developements had a car in Jap Performance last year that was done this way with a bolt-in cage.
Easiest way to spot these Prodrive cars is the reg no. usually OU 06 ???

I would suggest the only person who really knows what they are on about is Juggers regarding registering the car. If his estimate is correct its probably still cheaper than buying without all the hassle although I wouldn't want to risk ending up with a car that can't be put on the road.

It could always be a "shelf-queen" for 10 years until it doesn't need an SVA.

Probably worth more then pro-rata than it is now.

So do i understand this right. Any RAR's RA's S204 without SVA are not allowed on the road ?

And the only way you can get the model report is by spending a lot of ££££££££ through Litchco. This or sit on them for 10 years ????

But Prodrive wouldn't use a Limited Edition Spec C Type RA as a base car would they as it would cost too much in the first instance ??????

Mog,
Sorry.... I did not look at the detail, just assumed it was the 16" version. You are totally correct.

No, it only applies to cars bought from Prodrive for "Motorsport Use"

My advice is if you want a Hawkeye spec-c type ra go down the correct route with the correct paperwork.DCR59 is right in what he says about prodrive.Mickp the specials that you mentioned are outside the normal sva I dont know before the hawkeye model tho after 06 the cars have to have a euro4 model report.
