T5NYW 19 February 2008 11:05 PM

Believe it or not my No Plate question was a valid one!! i saw this car below on their site, I just wondered if it was the one you were hinting about?? (as you see the No plate reads "23-45") I have always been in the Market for a blue RA-R ;) That's why I asked the question.

Haha good detective work Tony :D

Personally i wouldnt go anywhere near car planet but thats just me

blu scoob 20 February 2008 06:40 AM

I beg your pardon thought you were just on the band wagon as most people are until it gets to hot for them,I dont work there I know them very well though ,Ive bought a few evos and fsti foresters off them, just plugging them like everyone else dose for the garages they go.its no biggy if you wouldn't go there to buy a car,you probably wouldn't be happy with the px price anyway if you originally bought in from litchfields, you would loose to much;)

The rookie 20 February 2008 08:58 AM

I'd have no problem going to CP, but go in with your eyes open, I know people who have bought foresters there and been very happy, I know people who have bought an FSTi from one of the 'known' more expensive outlets and had a terrible experience....

I agree though, blu scoob seems to be talking them up just a little too much (although that is in 397 posts, so maybe he lives just round teh corner from them and is simply being helpful!), well done Tony, although if we had a search engine for all, more people could have done that!

Tomorrow is here, no RA-R - cheap or otherwise!

Simon

That's OK, But you seemed to have a hang up over litchfeilds like if you were a competitor ;)

For example, prices just a guess ;) if mine at litchfeilds trade in £20k and a thier RA-R valued at £27K if Car planets type RA-R was £20K I'd expect trade in would be £14K for mine.

I have no hang ups about the cost of my Car, I just go by the cost to change.

What's the deal with "For Racing Only!!" does it not have an SVA?

and also why are they advertising a WRX on their site as SUBARU Impreza 2.0 WRX STi?

blu scoob 20 February 2008 12:40 PM

the kid is chinese he no speak good english:lol1: :lol1: and the car dosnt have an sva

Tidgy 20 February 2008 01:25 PM

mm, the for racing only is rtehr concerning aint it lol

Terminator X 20 February 2008 01:42 PM

As Blu Scoob says it will have no SVA. Curently it's tricky (although not impossible) for Dealers outside of Litcho's to register post 06 STi's etc (think it's post 06 although not certain) due to them having the only Model Report & not lending it out. Pretty closed market at the mo then :(

Unceratin of whats involved it does say "Race only" i would suspect you'd have to pay for, SVA, A model report hire(IIRC litcho £800), Cat1 alarm etc £2-£3K and then possibly subject to VAT and maybe import duty, so allow £2-£4K

Sorry no expert but at a VERY rough guess i'd allow £4k to £7k on top of purchase price and thats if it can be done ;) People who regularly import cars will have a better Idea of things than me

IIRC IMHO

Looking at £5,000 ontop and a sh#t load of hassel which will take 6 months to get sorted the correct way.

I speak from experience ;)

GazTheHat 20 February 2008 04:56 PM

I know there's another white one around for £21k.

Was just interested to hear how much this bargain RA was that keeps getting mentioned.

gillie 20 February 2008 05:05 PM

price

£16-495 there you go.

PeeVee 20 February 2008 05:05 PM

"For racing use only" probably means that a registration document will not be issued until proof has been supplied that the car has been fitted with a roll cage.

These cars have probably been sourced from Prodrive.

They occasionaly get left with stocks of base road cars that have not been turned into rally cars.

Because these cars were origonaly supplied at a very good price by "Subaru Japan" for the exclusive use of racing, Prodrive cannot sell them on as road cars. So they offer them out for sale at a knock down price but will not forward reg docs until they have received photographic & documented proof that a roll cage has been fitted. These cars were never meant to be on the public roads, they were destined for better things!

The Spec C type RA is not a base road car though, I thought Prodrive would use the Motorsport Spec C with 16" steel wheels and throw away interior as a base car.

the cars had all its duties paid for ,you cant take it off the docks without paying them;) they don't have access to a report so they are selling it cheap,if you want a very cheap track or rally car,its as good as your getting, the cars stunning if you want one this car is immaculate in every way,on a good day it would brake for not far off what its for sale for,if you ask it may come cheaper:luvlove: if your in the market its got to be tempting go and see the car you will not fault it:)p,s,the car dose have a d reg with it
