I'm not. I didn't pay any extra to have PPP and it has a sportscat and prodrive back box so there's still the upgrade there.

Would you not be able to completely reflash it from scratch ???

Nope - the only options are to buy a new ecu & sell your PPP'ed ecu on or get it ecutek tuned.

So are you saying 'you' (ie you) would get better results using Ecutek than using Open Source?

I think andy is saying he knows why Prodrive have used Ecutek for some years now.

How is the open source effort going with 2008 cars? Ecutek does it now.

I have no idea Paul. I am only using it to access 2006/7 ECU.

I guess it will be some time before anyone in the wider OS community has a requirement to get the xml definitions done for the ECU partly because, as you know, it takes some time to disassemble the hex tables and partly because there arent many on the roads.

Anyway, by that time I will be using Simtek and enjoying live mapping switcheable heaven

Not if you ask nicely Duncan.

The 2008 car uses a completely different ECU design, hardware and all, and a completely different comms canbus based protocol. It's not just a case of sorting tables.

There is more mapping time though I assume ? (I dont know how you charge for this, maybe this is built into the flat rate - if it is then it is a great deal )

would be interesting to remap a standard ppp 2.5 sti when the 2.0 sti ppp transforms so well

Had Mr Simtek playing with the connectors and testing my ECU yesterday so hopefully not too long before a Simtek solution is available for the DBW cars

Having Andy L and Steve S down at ours on Saturday , have arranged for a DBW car to be available for the day so they can have a play with one in one piece...
The owner is also fairly keen to upgrade to the SimTek the moment it becomes available , this will go with his GT30 hybrid we are fitting and mapping on Ecutek next week...

He was looking at all of the pin-outs and emmissions/air pump control systems and how to work that in.... will be nice when they have it available.
