I thought i got a good deal
22 (now 23)
97 UK impreza turbo
5 years NCB
No points
3PFT
All mods declared (alloys, exhaust + power increase, filter etc - approx 240 bhp)
Parked on driveway (no tracker or even alarm needed?!)
No accidents
£550
Ecar
I could have had fully comp for 750 but just wasn't worth it on an impreza of this age.
I checked against a WRX with the same bhp and all the same details as above and only endsleigh would touch me for 1750!! Says it all really!
I think the best thing to do if you are a younger impreza driver (or want to be) is to get a UK model and spend the massive amount of money you saved on insurance on a couple of sensible mods, which don't really seem to put the premium up too much (but check with insurer first obviously)
To be honest i don't really agree with people under 23 driving high performance cars like this as not everyone realises how much power they have under the bonnet, but if you really want a fast car the impreza has got to be one of the safest with the 4wd. I had an e36 m3 before the scoob, cost me over 1300 to insure at 21 and was a handful in the dry and just plain dangerous in the wet!
Just my opinion though, Good luck with the insurance guys.

I'm 21 (will be 22 on 16th feb)
I pay £1400 with 3 yrs ncb for my 53 wrx sti
I had to go with diamond as they were the only people who didnt laugh at me on the phone when gettin quotes...
Maybe its cheaper beacuse I'm a woman but still weird as I was paying the same on my civic type r before I gt the scooby...

I'm 23 years old
2007 Hawkeye STi
All mods declared - Remap/Exhaust/Fuel Pump/Front Splitter/Prodrive Springs/Zero Sports Upper Spoiler/Filter
3 Years NCB with 7 years driving experience
3 points for an SP30
I'm with Bell
£1250 is the premium
Not bad if I do say so myself, my profession may have an affect on my premium as well as my postcode as I'm with the same insurer as drtchock by the looks and I'm paying less than half of what he is paying!
I knew there would be some perks to this job!!

big response from everyone on this thread!!!
turns out some people either really really like subarus or have really deep pockets because i couldnt pay wot some people are paying for insurance here
insurance is just one of those things that bumms us all
but according to this thread and my own experience; IF U ARE UNDER 25 looking to insure a subaru, its cheaper if u:
haven't crashed,
have no points,
and buy the uk turbo 2000 instead of import wrx,
at the very least u could get the turbo 2000 and using the money u save on insurance u could tune up the car to 280bhp like the imports (like me ).

Sounds to me your only covered for Fire. You need a tracker for theft.

2000 Classic Impreza Sport.
1yr No claims Bonus
Accident over 2 yrs ago
No points

Had a quote on a 1996 wrx, £1950 FC although £2270 when you split it up into monthly payments so £161 a month. Wrx cheaper than a Uk turbo
