Just asked because when playing fifa and other games, a bar comes up saying " the disc maybe dirty, cannot read the disc" . Have you had this come up before? Didnt know if the xbox was on its way out, seeing as it doesn play forza either

I got that a few times and the machine was fine but the message turned up a lot more regularly then my machine crapped itself with the RROD arriving.
Nor me. Still got mine, and it's still working fine. The only console I've ever had trouble with is the 360. The best and worst console I've ever owned...
If it has scratches on it, then the likelyhood is, yes. If not, then no.
yes but jsut cos a disk has a scratch on it doesnt mean its the console thats doing it. anyway, yes the disc it does have scratches on it, but the other games i play dont, and they still work OK.
My launch day console packed up on the 9th Jan,called MS that night,UPS picked up on the Friday and it was delivered back to me on the 24th Jan so 2 weeks for me and I got my original console back.
I always had scratched discs but never bothered about it as I never had any problems with disc read errors but when I got the repaired console back they had changed both the disc drive and motherboard.
Following some totally shat support from Xbox customer support I spoke to a very nice chap from Microsoft Uk who in turn has given me a contact email address to get things resolved faster/easier than talking to their call centre in Cairo and struggling to understand a bloody word that has been said
