UPDATE we have now put up a web page on our web site for the dash upgrades http://www.rallytrader.com/dashlight/so for those that are interested please have a look. The price is half the price of another site that has been mentioned on here?

So I hope to save you some money and offer you a cost effective product.

Regards Huxley

Question

Huxley,

How many of the led's do we need for the full dash heater controls and cig lighter ? are they all the same size/ type?
Also how do we fit them? I have a MY96 UK turbo which i presume will be different from the new shape.

Thanks

Chris

1 'B' type req for Cig Lighter
3 'C' type reg for Heater control
4 'D' type req for Ancillarilly switch

etc etc.......

Or am I just being pedantic

Huxley,

Couple of questions....just to clear everything up

1. Do the bulbs come with fitting instructions? i.e Where to put each bulb and how to actually get to the bulbs hidden away in the dash?

2. Are all the bulbs the same or do different bulbs go in different locations? I know you gave the definition of 6 dash bubls, 2 heater bubls, but are all these bulbs different or all the same?

3. How much would it cost for a full blue dash for a pre MY97 car?

4. Do we get discount for being Scoobynet muppets or group buy?

5. Would you be able to make the mod you talked about for the heater controls? Im sure people here wouldnt mind making it worth your while. I'd pay you anyway

Thanks alot for getting all of this organised. I know how hard it is to organise with scoobynet muppets nipping at your heels lol

Cheers

James

Wink

Right here goes update no ??

You will need the following for the Scoob up to MY 97 - as for the anything onwards I will need to find out how many lamps are in the dash of newer cars

You will need the following lamps for the Speedo housing and heater controls.

6 Bulbs for the Dash Display

2* Bulbs for the Heater Display

1 Cigarette lighter

The switch gear is still under review see below

I'm waiting for a price for the condom covers for the switch gear.

This will be a case of taking your switch apart and swapping the lamp covers over and I will be getting some spare lamps.

Also I should be getting some adaptors for The WRX heater lamps.

* The heater controls require a small mod to the led to fit behind the diffuser but that’s no problem I will probably do the mod on the heater lamps before they go out.

As per the post before, you take the dash display out or work on it with it pulled out at a bit on a angle then the old lamp out of the back of the dash these are mounted in a twist lock lamp holder, you twist it to take it out then you pull the bulb out and swap the led lamp over, reinsert the twist lamp holder, If it doesn't work the first time when you turn the lights on take the led out turn it around, put it back in and hey presto a new look.

The lamps are like for like swaps all the lamps we are supplying at the moment are of the same size.

As for brightness, it depends on what type of dash you have, my dash is a white dial type with a modified back plate so it makes it quite bright but I think it's ok, not to distracting.

If anybody wants to pre order please use the form on here http://www.rallytrader.com/dashlight/ or email me at leds@rallytrader.com

Please don’t post on the BBS for lamp requests as I’m trying to keep all the pre orders in one place to keep it neat and tidy!

Thanks Huxley

Waa hooooo I think the package we have been waiting for has arrived but no one in to receive it! DOH

So hopefully tomorrow I will have the goodies (LED's)

So let's hope that I’m right, looks like I will have to limber up my tongue for all those stamps!!

I now have the lamps Blue, Yellow Red and Green also frosted blue sidelight narrow angle type lamps so Emails out to the people that have Emailed me soon.

*****Also buy a second colour set for £3.45 per lamp*****

Please note that the stocks of blue LED’s are now limited, due to the number of pre-orders we have received. Once the blue LED stock is exhausted we hope to order further.

I know that taking a pre MY97 dash out is just 8 screws and it comes out quite easy as for anything after that i have not taken one out so i can't help that much on that one.

Huxley

Also they can be used in some of the sidelight fittings and indicators. For show use if you know what i mean?

Question

Update samples on their way to me as i type, should arrive some time this week.

Approx 6.5 euros each direct plug in lamp these can also be put in wedge side light holders or any lamp that is push in wedge or push and twist type holders.

Cool

Sorry for the delay I have been very busy working "that may seam difficult to some people that know me!” anyway just to bring you all up to date on what’s going on the original supplier for the lamps has not even bothered to get back to me or answer my phone calls so b****cks to them

So if you can be a bit patient with it I think it will be better in the long run the only problem is that bulk orders on the blue lamps is a two week turnaround so hopefully the have a few samples in stock to send me

Thanks for being patient with me as I’m only semi Human

And to all the people that have emailed me off line i will let you know as soon as i know.

Huxley
