Time Attack Pro car - 2008
If you can't see the pics you really have missed out!
I will be very interested to see the suspension on this thing.
Problem is, I am wanting to do a bespoke build again in my heart...but Trish is not so sure...Maybe I'll find one almost done in 2008 which might be better!
Paul: no slackin' when the shell is being given that Magic Touch in the booth.
As Andy says, it is hard bloody work reading about all these projects at my age.

You pair arn't that old yet!
Keep your chin up Paul, this stage is the hardest part where you work all day then look back and it doesnt look any further on, wont be long before it's an assembly job and real progress apears to be happening.

Look Graham, young John is back

300 hrs isn't too bad Paul, IIRC Prodrive claim over 700hrs in prepping a WRC shell. Which works out as 1 man full time for 5 months !

Ahhhh Andy you do make me laugh!
I'm not sure about Paul's comment about 'family time' but he has a birthday this week so I am going to insist he has at least one night off!
I haven't heard from him since 6pm, when my mum took roast dinner over to him and my dad (suckered in for the day) at the workshop. Lets hope he is on the finishing straight!
We have all been putting in 8 hour plus days on customer work before any of this gets done, and Paul easily does another couple on top of that (I think he handed over a customer car at about 8pm on Friday night). Honestly I am wrecked on his behalf! Or is that the wine?!
Everyone at ZEN wants to prepare and run the best Impreza we can for 2008, end of. It is nothing more and nothing less than that. We love this!
I will do my best to get all the project pics up an running by end of play tomorrow - my web man is in Cape Town so is not 100% straight forward!

Is it the camper flying or ....
Bostin' welding, so good its a shame to paint over it all.
Will you paint the inside 'matt' or glossy?
Prodrive paint colour in matt with no clear on top to save weight but to stop glare off the cage (I was told at prodrive in the body shop).
This car will be compared to a pro shell so be ready!
Found a colour yet?
When is it back? I want to come and scribble on the roof!

Despite Tim's earlier cynicism:

The shell is ON the trailer, ready to go to EMB at first light tomorrow:

Now the really exciting bit begins for us and we will be pestering for the updates
Beers for us lot tomorrow night. Round one complete!

Uuuurgh...
Holes under headlights are same as on blue car, for intercooler pipes, or at least to allow the current setup, which mcy be subject to change. No lower front panel, never had one, so we have welded in posts that go right through chassis rail so we can bolt something in place to mount intercooler or whatever.
Still not totally laid out the rear rad setup yet, I might have to take a trip to eclipe to get that on it's way to being sorted.
Oh for more time.

Talk about a bit of pressure..
Going back up to what Andy F said about the length of time taken to prep the shells at prodrive, I watched a programme last Sunday where Malcolm Wilson quoted 1200 hours for the Focus WRC shell..
Prodrive must obviously work quicker...
Anyway, here I am sat twidling my thumbs awaiting delivery..
