Supermarket car parking again - good news
Just hope that one day all the planks who use disabled bays when they so obviously are able bodied, are in a position to badly need one of those spaces ...if you get my drift.

To enforce it they would need to take you to court and prove your car was there and that you were driving it.
I always smile when the old argument of disabled spaces to shoppers is used because it can only be true in a very small minority of cases. Whenever I'm out and about anywhere the spaces appear to be all taken with I'd say 65% genuine disabled, 15% fat and pretending to be disabled, then 20% idle, immoral, selfish, 'out for themselves' types.
Anyway, as the charging news is old news and was discussed here months ago I doubt the thread will bring up anything new. People will behave the same and it's only when they might need a space themselves will they change their views.
Hats off to those that won't park in a disabled space, it's getting rarer too.

Disabled parking bays, not a problem.
However why should those who have chosen to procreate be awarded special privileges at the supermarket? It was their choice, no one made them do it, it's not a disease or disability.
The only reason parent and child spaces are there is because some bright spark in the marketing department looked at the figures and decided that families spend the most on their weekly shop. Therefore lets give them special parking bays for their gas guzzling 4x4s and ****ty people carriers as an incentive to make them shop here. Yeah make them a bit wider so it's easier to get push chairs out etc., doesn't matter that they take up half the car park so that the rest of us have to park further away and sometimes struggle to get a space. Of course once one supermarket had done it they all had to follow suit, otherwise xxx supermarket would be seen to be more child friendly than them so could potentially lose customers.
Now there are those of us who see through this bit of marketing and don't give a monkies. If a parent and child space is free for my nice car then why shouldn't I use it, after all it's only a lifestyle choice that says if you can park there or not, and in my book that's discrimination. So I'll continue to use them. If they try to fine me I'd like to see them try and enforce it. They do not have the power to issue fines. Don't think they would like the bad PR that would ensue if they tried to take me to court over it. As for wheel clamping, that's never going to happen, they value the customers to highly regardless as to whether you've parked in the wrong spot.
So stuff 'em. We want special parking bays as a reward for those of us who have chosen not to bring some chavvy kids into this world (yet!).

I park well away from anyone if I can.
Why do 'some' performance car owners use these spaces? To be anti-social? No, because there is 30 free spaces and they are fed up paying out to have car-park dinks removed from their pride and joy, just because some old dear can't open and close her door without damaging something!

On the disabled thing I was at Makro the other day and ALL disabled spaces were full - prob 20+. But then the Valleys commandos know how to work the system and save the road tax bill (for it is free if you blag a pass...)

When I have to go to Sainsburys with my kids I always park at the other end of the carpark where no-one else is, rain or shine.
A bit of a walk never hurt anyone.
I'd rather lick **** off a nettle than use a parent/child space.
AND I've got one of those gas guzzling 4x4 pick-up thingys.
Parents & Toddlers I couldn't care less about - its their choice to spawn - not something forced upon them.
Disabled places are something totally different... Not disabled and you want to park in them? Fine - I'll break your bloody legs and see how you like not being able to walk and see if you think thats worth being able to park closer to the supermarket.
I've threatened more than one little ******* car body panels when I've seen them parking in disabled bays - and I'd do it to an Impreza owner too. Able bodied people who park in disabled bays are F***ing scum. Simple as.

Sorry folks, I agree with Asda on this one. Disabled and child spaces. You all go on about your cars getting dinted. Well, try getting a wheelchair or a buggy out of a car in limited space.I've had two kids and now my Mum is fighting cancer, so I need the spaces.
If someone who thinks rushing in to buy the paper is more important and takes up that space, I spit on them.
I don't need the space now for my kids as they are grown up, buts swings and roundabouts, I need that space now for my Mum.

When the disabled spaces are all gone, why do the orange "park anywhere" badge brigade move onto the parent and child spaces?
What would happen if I parked in a disabled space with my three kids because there was no parent and child spaces left? I imagine I'd be shot on sight.
Yes, I know it was my choice to become a parent as appose to disabled folk who hardly choose to be disabled. My point is, I never asked for any special provisions to be made for parents with children but I would like to be able to make use of any provisions that are in place that I'm entitled to use.

Do what they like , my local Asda has no parent and child spaces and only a few disabled spots as its carpark is shared with a load of other stores.
Lets face it we survived perfectly well without these oversized spaces for years - why do we need them now.
I'd also love it if they raised the cash machines so a normal person can use them , have to bend double to use the flipping things and the only people are see to benefit are the fat lazy ones who use those mobility scooters to get to the cake aisle and back

I do sympathise with dings, but a Lotus Elise owner (with no child seat) parked in parent and child spaces in Ikea recently. I though to myself what a **** as I had just struggled to get the kids out the car seats in a std space (ohh and I too dont like dings!). When I got back it was still there - covered in all manner of dirt, chippings , rubbish, a nappy and other stuff. It even and had a couple of homemade signs on it suggesting he might be being a tad selfish. I had to snigger

Parking on private land is always a sensitive issue. If you’re a land owner or rep on private land it is your right to have easy access to your land without inconsiderate motorists parking in your spaces, or blocking up key access point to you propriety. Parking in disabled bays is also a major problem. Blue badge holders have to be allocated a certain number of spaces under the discrimination of disabled act. Most retailers just comply with this directive, but in a very lack lustier way. What they don’t do is keep these bays free and available for blue badge holders. With means we get a lot of disabled bay abuse. One way of dealing with this is to get a Parking Management company to deal with theses sensitive issues, in a lawful and ethical way. Try Northern Parking Services, they offer a wide range of parking solutions to your parking problems. Many of there services are free to set up, so why not give them a call.

Companies like that exist to rip people off and thats it, how do you live with yourself fining people who do their weekly shop?

FREE CAR PARKS FOR ALL SHOPPERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our local blockbuster doesnt have a carpark so EVERYONE uses the furniture store opposite. This store shuts at 5 everyday but has been complaining that customers cant park there cos of blockbuster custmers using all the spaces, (how many people go to rent a dvd before 5, not many i reckon cos were all at work). they used to cut off the entrance to the park at night with a big chain so no one could use it, but it was cut down twice cos it pi55ed everyone off.
So they got in a "car park management" company in to sort it out, and they took the chain down, so the park was open and people would use it, then when they were choosing a dvd at night, the ******* hiding away across thr road would spring into action and clamp your car, charging 80 quid to release it! This happened in the space of TWO minutes once while a guy returned a dvd and payed the late fine!
It pi55ed of so many people it was on the front of the local rag twice and the furniture store gets letters of abuse and has been boycotted to the point everythings on sale and they are closing soon!
The hiding clamper has been threatened more than once, and my mate actually let the tyre down on his birds car to get the clamp off, and drove off!
And told the clamper to watch his back cos hes p155ed of loads of people!
Why do companies like this exist? All they do is annoy people!
**** off and leave us alone!
You and your adverts for your company can **** off, a parking management company will just fine everyone so they make money, after all thats why your in business is it not?
