The camera I was looking at before was over £250 this one was on offer for £129.99 and I picked up a spare mount at the same time. I have been very pleased with the quality as I did not expect it to be top notch as it's not HD but there is a HD version available.
It sits just behind the mirror and while driving I cannot see it, I pushed the power cable up into the leading edge of the roof trim and then inside the door rubber and through the glove box...simples

Really interested in this. Taffy, how well (if at all) does it capture images at night?

I'm more interested in using this while my car is parked up to catch the scumbag who thinks it's funny kicking my car wing mirrors each weekend

Thanks

That video is very disappointing. I expected you to show us one of you having an accident!

If you wire it up to a permanent power supply ( they do sell a little adaptor for this purpose ) the camera has a "parking mode" and will record when ever movement is detected in front of the camera. Sounds like exactly what you want.

Cheers Taffy for the info, just ordered the DR300.

Not gone for the power magic option, going to add a switchable permanent supply that I can use as required. That way if you have a prang, you can keep recording if you switch the engine off.

Superb, apart from a couple of issues.

Bought mine from Dogcamsport, camera arrived next day with no files on the memory card, blank....nothing. So spent the evening trying to find the files on the web, which is not that straight forward. Managed to get the viewer but the firmware for the camera wouldn't download, after a lot of faffing about discovered that I needed the firmware for the DR350, don't know why.

Phoned dogcamsport the next day to provide some customer feedback, and they were very helpful, and said that if I had any more problems they would just send me a new card with the software on it. Quite impressed with their response to the problem.

Secondly my Origin B2 stopped logging onto the satellites, it would appear there is some sort of interference coming from the DR300, even though I don't have the GPS version....strange. Think I've overcome that though by moving the GPS aerial.

So overall I would say GVFM, image quality is acceptable, I might get the HD version for another car.

Glad you are happy and the minor problem was sorted...I could have emailed the software to you as well. If I do get another like you i'd go for the HD version but I'm sure the prices will come down over the next few years. I have seen a few on fleabay for under £50 but I was more confident to go through a reputable company as you did . I did pick up a bigger sd card from mymemory

I am guessing that if he needed one 7 years ago because he was worried about 'crashing' too often, he is now using a gopro on his bike!

Well apparently the g1w has issues with certain sd cards.some say only use a class 4 or 6 sd card, and some say only use a class 10 card.I had a 32gb transcend class 10 card.maybe that was the issue, but then it wouldn't turn on at all,so sent it back.bought a DC2 roadhawk.

Cheers for the heads up,I will order a class 4 or 6 since you had problems when the class 10 was in there.
