RIGHT
I'm gonna stick my neck out here and hope i don't get too much abuse.

i once had a NOVA SR and i ended up doing all sorts of things to it.

Astray 16v brakes all round=£800
suspension =£1000
wheels =£800
bodywork respray =£2000
4*4 saphire vents =£180
Astray 16v cortenay engine =£3000
piper cams fitted =£400
and louds of other crap (about £12000 with repairs and running). at the end of it i had a little NOVA with 190bhp of normaly aspirated power and it was quick(the scooby can't live with it for throttle response)but the downside was it allways in the garage and a useless chassis that could'nt handle the power(you could physicaly fill it flexing)

now i must say i liked that car for all its +'s & -'s but at the end of the day i needed to grow up. So the only car that was faster and far more superior had to be a scooby .
please don't slate me(i've seen the light,we were all young once)
cheers Scott

Absolutely agree with you. You have to work your way up, surely most people on here started off with 'lesser' cars, I know I did,- Nova SR, Cav SRi, Astra GTE, Cav GSi, now my WRX. Only 'rich boys' can have a fast car to start off with.
You shouldn't be so nasty to them, I'm sure we've all had satisfaction from 'beating' more expensive cars at some point on a brief dual carriageway blast? I remember the miffed expression of a Maserati 3200gt driver I 'encountered' in my scoob, - doesn't mean I wouldn't swap him for his Maser though!
- I'm not condoning road racing BTW, before any of the 'hypocrites' start. (ie "I've got a scoob but I never boot it" etc.

Darren Thompson - For your info, it's the Performance Nova Group that meet in Cheadle, nothing to do with Corsa Sport. Agreed we're all bubble jacket-clad performance car wannabes who can't afford a decent car. Reality check please.

You folks, well most of you are rotten!!!
These folks probably can't afford a Scoob and if they could would probably buy one as everybody knows that they are a pound for pound bargain.

We should thank them that they are
A)Interested in performance driving like the rest of us
B)Actually buying their own cars, just like us (and not stealing ours!!!!!)

You snobs,

Whats the real difference between

1) Corsa versus Scooby

and

2) Scooby versus Porsche etc, for example?

Most (not all) people who own brand new Scoobies cant afford brand new Porsche 996s etc, but we dont mind coming back on here and braggin about how we race them etc?

As has been said already, everyone is entitled to feel that their car is best, and no doubt the guy in the 100k Porker is looking at you in your 15k (less or more) Scooby thinking the same as the guy in the 15k Scooby is about the lad in the 2k Nova?

Give em a break

True Sunil, but thats not the debate here. I dont consider myself snobby at all (im currently driving a 1989 Sierra Estate and think nothing of it....its chuffing great in the snow!! ). I take the point about money etc, but I sold my WRX (boohoo) for £6100 last week. Youll find these guys have spent much, much more on a Corsa, yeah its different and unique, but....hey...I wouldnt.

Theyre also making some outrageous statements which are getting shot down in flames, keeps me occupied reading the thread, but I do take youre point!

Bye for now

Rich
