Progress has been sporadic recently as work has been uber busy.

But, after some brief mapping by me recently it made 438bhp on Dyno Dynamics rollers at a very conservative 1.3 bar and was running nice and safe too. So shows lots of potential for more

We fitted an AVCR yesterday and were planning to map it today to run at 1.8 bar peaking at just over 2 bar so should see me the happy side of 500 bhp and an equally large amount of torque on pump fuel but the weather got the better of me today.

So I painted my spare set of wheels

As my other set of white wheels have my road tyres on them, I needed another set of white wheels for the 888's when they get here.

The base wheels were cr@ppy gold std items 8J x 17 but after a good clean and 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of gloss white they look like this:

If you aint quick, you may as well look cool

AVCR set up at 1.8 bar will give me some more speed and hopefully bring down the 1.24 at donny to something more like it (plus the extra adrenaline rush of competition )

I thought there was an issue about not being able to use the AVCR with a DBW 2.5 STI...

Can you run more than 2bar?

Dynamix,
If you are already experiencing fuel surge, get that sorted first instead of spraying your wheels!!! Seriously though..... it could all end in tears mate if you don't rectify it.

Good luck mate!

1.65 today is pretty nice with peaking at 1.8 so 2 bar will be special

Just need to get up to Nottingham to get a couple of things sorted and I am ready to go.

only if someone sponsors me one for free

(limited) money at the moment is being spent on making it go faster, making it handle better and making it stop better as well as safety and reliability. Nothing spare for bling unfortunately.

lol, makes sense...I thought I'd read that someone had captured some data on running vents\reverse scoops and it aided cooling? That's justification enough to buy one surely

Interesting point.

I have seen the studies and yes it does aid cooling and if I had a cooling issue I would be looking to solve it.

Trouble is, I like the scoop. It gives the car a presence on the road and people move out of the way for fear of being eaten by it

There is an alternative to the RCM one, and is cheaper, and just as good quality..
