Vunerable Elderly - advice needed please.
My nan suffered the same condition, strokes and dementia, went in to sheltered accm with frequent visits by my mum and aunt with food and company etc. My mum tried to have her at home, but it didn't work out, so she's back in sheltered accm again.
I saw my nan back in 2003 when I was on a trip to the old country. She knew who I was from her long term memory, but could not remember what we'd just talked about. It's really sad when you see old family members suffer like this. And she STILL smokes like smoldering hay!

I missed it too, sorry
Being with someone as they pass on is probably one of the hardest things in life, but at the same time comforting that you were there and that she wasn't in pain.
