Look stop all this messing around folks and let's be serious for a moment, it is MOST CERTAINLY a ghost and probably a fairly evil one at that Actually I made that last bit up but it's definitely a ghost albeit a fairly benign one (at the moment )

I know all this because I just asked a friend of mine who is also a practicing Medium and he said it is so it must be true

Your best bet is to stay awake all night with a video recorder and film it for us, that way we can work out the best form of exorcism for it

Good luck

Psychic Sal

PS. I've lived in a haunted house too, scary isn't it?

and it was always cold there and it felt very strange like someone watching you .
used to feel to embarressed to put a certain dvd on when she was at work
all ghosts are bad ghosts i cannot get rid of my demon she's been with me 7 years now

Well remembered, have not had a visitation for a while until the other week, after my mate had died I had a brief disruption which was weird, I in no way believe it was his ghost, I had no feeling it was him, I suspect it was just brought on by emotion in the house. It was stronger than it has been for ages but still not as strong as it was originally, it might be me getting older. Also, I have been having lots of very vivid dreams recently, really fantastic, epic stuff.

Its the smell that gets me, that smell like theres a storm going on is very strong for me, the wife doesn't really spot it or pretends not to as she isn't very good with such things, I am not religious and don't beleive it is the after life or dead people, just old memories etched on a structure.

There was a retrospective on Morecambe and Wise last night, I went to fill my glass and it was there again, stronger than ever, maybe it was a fan of Eric and Ernie ? the smell hadnt wafted through but was there as soon as I went into the hall (its usual spot, very rarely in a room), the wife looked at me when I came back in as i didn't mention it and asked whether we had been visited so I told her we had, I did not mention it as it freaks her right out but she spotted it so it must have been strong.

No Malevolance, no nothing, just a bit of sadness and that might just be me.

I've been doing some thorough research on the subject (Google ) and have come across this useful site: Dealing with a problem ghost - what to do if your house is haunted

A couple of excerpts from it are:

"Speak to the ghost, out loud. Shout, if you feel you must. Explain to your ghost that you live there now and he/she is doing things that bother you. Explain exactly what those things are. Ask the ghost to stop immediately. If you want the ghost to leave altogether, you need to say that.

This usually works. However, some ghosts won't take you seriously, and you may need to remind it to leave you alone several times before it stays away."

And

"The shoe remedy

This one sounds silly but gets great results among our readers: When you go to bed at night, set out the shoes you'll wear in the morning. Place them at the foot of your bed, on the floor, with one shoe pointing one way, and the other shoe pointing the opposite way.

According to folklore, the ghosts get so confused by this, they leave after a few nights."

Some sound advice there

I have tried talking, shouting and all sorts, it doesn't react, I doubt it would worry about shoes, generally the hall is full of them in all sorts of arrangements.

I stayed at a mates dads pub years back... an old landlady who wouldn't accept that last orders had called for her...

Door blew open, and the curtains moved...last bleddy time i stayed the night there!

Was also warned about her throwing bags of peanuts at peoples heads.. they said she was a bit nutty.. i'll get me coat

I'd take to wearing a huge crucifix around your neck, eating lots of garlic, and perhaps telling the ghost to leave might help

I didnt then I stayed at the pub with Landlady 'Alice' - then I freaked out for ages.. but it could have been down to the fact that i was only 11 or so at the time..

Now i'm in two minds.. there are people who are so adament that they have experienced, which makes me believe (sort of!)and there are those who think it's mumbo-jumbo..

Quite suprised that such an 'easy to take the ****' subject has surprisingly been left alone from some of the amoeba's (sp) on here.

I do beleive in ghosts, have had a few weird experiences in the past and heard accounts from some very 'down to earth' people who have nothing to gain from making sh*t up.

Would be interested if DCI had anything strange happen last night.

DCI?????

Sorry DCI, this thread's been crying out for something like that...

I have to be honest though. When I was a young boy my parents went out for the evening and I was left alone in bed. There was no one else in the house and the doors were fully locked etc.

I saw the door handle of my bedroom turn and the door was opened about a foot and then closed again. I was not dreaming because I had been reading a book.

My grandad had died in the house the week before and I have always wondered whethr it was his ghost checking on me. I got out of bed and checked the house and it was empty.

I can't explain this and it never happened again either.

Les

There's some scary **** going down at Hunt Halls...

Last night I thought (and I try to avoid doing that) by wedging the door shut Mr Spookyarse wouldn't be able to 'open' said door... and I'd sleep like a baby (and that's not Rosemary's feckin baby before you start!)....

So all's going well... it's pitch black, 3AM... and nothing!! so I'm lying there quietly sniggering and humming that 80's classic from Ray Parker Junior... when the feckin door makes a "THUMPHH.." sound, not loud.. but like someone pushing it... the door's being FECKIN PUSHED... and as before no alarms from my intruder system!!

So I do the decent thing and pull the quilt over my head .... then the feckin thing decides to go feckin walkabout around Hunt Halls... it's like when your central heating fires up and all the floor boards start to creak, although my heating doesn't start till 7AM..

I'm listening to him/her/it walk all around the top floor of HH and in between cacking myself I kept thinking "Steve would feckin love this" anyhow... it went away after around 30 minutes, I went back to sleep... and that was that!

UNTIL I FECKIN GET UP THE NEXT MORNING TO FIND ALL MY DOWNSTAIRS LIGHTS ON.... YEP, FECKIN ON!!!!!!!!!!

This is gettin beyond a joke... I'm not feeling the love... but on a plus side I've not been slimed yet

*BTW This IS all true*

OMG!!!!!!!

Seriously, if you're near my neck of the woods, I can get the number of the chap who sorted out our next door neighbours. They had the lights on/off thing, amongst other stuff, but it eventually all kicked off and they were 'attacked' one night (last June).

Have you lived there long?

Jeesus Christ mate, dont know what i would have done.

Maybe, tonight, stay in the room opposite yours, leave the door open a crack and observe if anything happens from the outside.

I dont know what you (or I) would do if you see 'anything' walk across the landing and try to enter your bedroom though mate, but i would be interested to see what, if anything, is doing it.

If you have the bottle to do that, cos it might know you are in the other room and come in there in stead
