It seems to be a feature of the car then; mine does it as well.
I also get a noise (like metal against metal but not squeak or high pitch) when going forwward and breaking heavily just before the car stops. After washing the alloys/discs/calipers it's OK for a while until it starts again. What could this be?

 

Mine also squeal when going backwards, 02 sti with brembo.

Does anyone know how to cure it?

Has anyone took there`s back to the dealer while its under warranty for investigation?.

 

Just put new Mintex fast road pads on front (04 Sti) and braking very good but very light application when coming to standstill, squeal
Never did it b4 so assumed its the new pads?
Assembled with same shims etc but the pads came with stick on rubber pads that I didn't use, maybe should try'em, opinions welcome.
