I worked in Frankfurt last year for a few months
I arrived on a sunday afternoon and within about 10 mins I saw a Porsche convertible and Ferrari 550 give it full throttle away from the lights.....in the middle of FFT - the 550 sounded fantastic - never heard one being redlined in 1st. Lots of 2/3 lane oneway sytems around the city - everybody seemed to give it welly away from the lights.
I also noticed that very few people will cross the road without the little green man being lit up, even if the road appears clear
and they have the cycle lanes on the pavement not the road......a cab driver on the way to the airport one night got really pissed off with a cyclist who was on the road instead of the cycle lanes

The Defense Witness states..

I saw him up ahead so decided to follow him to see if he was interested in going somewhere more appropriate.. (Usually signalled by a flash of the hazards)

And under cross examination m'Lud he states...

Erm.. wasnt actually my idea to race.. it was their encouragement... and the road was about four lanes wide.. no corners just a straight line blast with a few interesting additions...
The Prosecution rests its case me Honour

Talking of wierd things, I was errrmmmm following (words loosely used) an F reg cossie, he seemed to have loads of power but when he changed gear the whole back end would go, in the end me and my m8 though he was getting dangerous so we put some space in between the two cars... he must have had some power though to up shift from say 2nd to third and get back end slip at about 60-70mph...still four wheel drive and a Garat T4 won the day !....

Cool

Hmmm... Well full on acceleration from a standing start would last 4.6 secs in mine before it started attracting the attention of the local buzzards...

Now a twisty section of backroads (there and back)... there's a bit more thrill... you never get faster than 60 (ish) and the hedges are inches from your wing-mirrors... Ah the thrill of the countryside at night

every now and then i have a race, what did i buy a scooby for if i dident. Mind you I only do it if the roads are clear and no danger, not in the wet or near built up areas. sometimes your forced into it when you get a stupid boyracer in a nova or RS and there up your ****, why do they do this? You then feel obliged to show them up and pull away.

Church monster- What u on about a T4 on ur scoob? They for over 450+bhp (no need for one below that), which would make ur scooby the fastest one around... u even got a scooby? u even got a driving licence?

Someones been smoking crack after school, then goin on the scoobynet methinks...

typical response from (shot down in flames) an rs owner....yes I do have a scoob, no it doesnt have 450 bhp... the t4 came off another vehicle and it seemed a shame to waste it...but without being big headed my car will eat most cossies with the same bhp...

I got blown away by a RX7 so know how you feel. Gave it hell on the A10 from 3 different sets of lights (wet roads too). Had him til 60ish then all I saw was the flames from his exhaust.

Found out he was a twin turbo conversion (17k worth of mod) and 150hp up on my MY00 turbo.

Churchmonster-

im not jelous-

im interested!!!!

Can you pls post the spec of your scoob? Engine internals, transmission, exhaust (inc manifold), fuel system, engine managment, boost pressure, what revs the T4 comes on boost, inlet charge cooling, any 0-60, 1/4mile times too, etc etc. Some engine bay pics if you could.

Its gotta be one of the finest scoobs around, so share it with us all.

(Actually, u all must of seen this car, or it has at least been posted on here B4, can some one tell me please?)

Cheers,

Steve

Hmmmm... a secret T4 equipped scooby that nobody on here has ever heard of... ...like my 3wd reliant robin with a 600cc engine running 12injectors and a turbo the size of a dustbin, which magically hits full boost at 1200rpm and revs to 23,000rpm... ...prove me wrong, eh?

Church are you another person who beleives his car is quicker than a cossie with the same bhp.

Bondy's saff. 330. 2WD
CraigH's scoob 360.

both the same apart from the awesome launch of Craig's.....

Grip is a good thing....

Drag racing 4 up ? not a good idea. With the power to weight ratio of a UK Scoob, adding 3 x 85kg blokes (or birds) = 255kg.
Thats the equivelent of losing 43 bhp in terms of acceleration.
A bog standard cossie with a blown head gasket is going to blow that away ! Unless of course the cossie's 5 up !!

cc

ps Get an RA and effectivly get 20 bhp for free !!

Dingy,

Bearing in mind I had your fat lardy butt in my car at the time - that's gotta be worth a 40hp drop

Saying they're the same, that's in the dry I guess?

Strange how Bondys 330hp is enough for most other 400hp Cossies though isn't it....

Churchmonster

So how did you manage to fit this T4 on your Scoob? What ECU are you running? It must be laggy as hell and what boost levels?

I'd guess youre running a front mount too?

And what is it with motorway driving. I hardly ever drive on the motorway but I had to bring some equipment to work today. So there I was driving sensibly along the M23 to Brighton when I get a Mercedes family carrier thing right behind me on my bumper. I was in the fast lane but I wasn't exactly going slow, unless you call 80mph slow. Maybe I should have pulled over and let him pass but it really did p*ss me off. So I just put my foot down to let him know he was getting on my ****. Slow down again, he seemed to get the message but straight after him I get a vecta with a young bloke do exactly the same thing. So I sit there for a while thinking "nope I won't break the law for this tw*t". But I'm not very good at keeping cool so I put my foot down again. Leaving a very large gap, only for him to do exactly the same when I slow back down. He then tries to pass on the inside so I decided to wave him past and just accelerate at his speed to p*ss him off. Ok I know it was childish but people like that really are annoying. Sods law though I'll be the one who gets done for speeding.

I presume you were overtaking other traffic while you were sitting in the outside lane.....if not what were u doing there ?

Its not upto you to decide what speed other people drive their cars at.

Steve3drRS,

you are indeed a typical cossie owner.

Just because someone mentions a garrett T4, you suddenly wake up. All we know about is the turbo (unproven) eyt all of a sudden it has to be one of the finest imprezas around.

The guy only said it was a shame to waste it, he didnt say anything about having the rest of the kit to take advantage of it.

I for one am interested, mostly because I know you cant fit a T4 in a scoob engine bay without new up and downpipes and repositioning it, not to mention the 4 inch inlet which requires a larger airfilter and pipework and therefore also requires repositioning, and then theres the external wastegate.

Sounds to me like bollocks!

either way, calm down, its just a garrett.

Jesus, its like saying "walkies" to a dog!

lovin it!

Modified your internals Churchie?

regarding those hwo claim its not illegal to wellie it to the limit from standing start, I think if you sat next to plod at some lights in a 40/50/60 zone and nailed it right to the speed limit they would be having words with you, something along the lines of due care and attention / dangerous driving etc. I'm sure they could come up with something

I dont care what people have, i just dont like liars.

like you say, it would involve new pipework, exhaust, etc etc and he wouldve been better off selling it rather than "not wasteing it".

Unless youve got uprated internals n fuel system to cope with 30psi+boost then its a complete waste, esp as a T4 is incredibly laggy n he would now have a very narrow power band for hardly any increase in power, which would make the car slower through the gears than if hed left as it was...

Cheers

steve (who has no prob with scoobs, jus liars)

GolfTurbo, I had cars in front of me so couldn't go anywhere anyway. They moved moved over (and no I wasn't driving up their ar*es) and I kept at 80mph overtaking other traffic. I think this bloke was just a prat.

John-Paul, how the hell can you say that? "Its People like you who cause the majority of accidents" Yeh right-O!! Like you know me. You seemed to not get the point of my thread. I was not advocating racing, simply voicing my opinion about idiots like you who insult others on this BBS. I agree with you about track days etc etc but you can voice your opinion in such a way without hurling any insults, even if you do back it up with a chainsaw. Thanks Boomer. Hehe!!!
