And no its not a white power board, i dont beleive in that, but this is ENGLAND, we should come first, THATS IT.
IMO, i should get a council house(not that i need one), before any foreigner, because of the contributions i and my family have made to this country
My dad didnt fight in ww2 so i can be told flying the st georges cross during the world cup is offensive to other religions, THIS IS ENGLAND.

Also, I agree that people in England should come first, but I'm getting so fed up with this anti Islam propaganda (most of which has no roots in reality). Edit: and to be totally honest, England is vastly more rich than any African nation, and if some of my tax take can be used to help them out, then I think it's money well spent (you don't have to agree, it's just my own belief)
Btw, my grand dad fought in WW2 to protect his country from a foreign state dictating what he was allowed to do, which is probably the same or similar to what your dad fought for.

Agreed on the ww2 point, but our local council got involved on the world cup,and guess which community complained?
During the same period, the cops proceeded to pull anyone with a flag on their car and try and make them take it off! WHY, so not to offend muslims(the exact words of one cop who pulled my mate)
One cop even said if the flag was left on over night, the car would become a vandalism target!!!!!!!!!!!
Whichever way you look at it THAT IS WRONG!!!! A foreigner vandalising the st georges cross in england during the world cup!
If we did that in there country we would be beheaded!!! no questions asked!

Just briefly going back on the topic of the thread, before it naturally veered away into many arguements...
I'm glad the teacher is now home and well, and I feel it's only fair to say well done to the 2 Muslims who went across to help to secure her release. So many people shout about them when there is wrong doing, yet nobody has given those 2 a thumbs up for seeing sense and going to help her out.

I agree with Lisa too. Does show the differences in Islamic values whereby the two peers, and a series of Muslims I heard on radio, were against the way this was handled by the Sudanese.
But I feel it's still on topic to argue the various religious aspects of this because it was an Islamic / religious law interpretation that locked her and threatened her life in the first place.
Henrik - the Anti Islamic feeling, I'm afraid, is being fueled by the behavior of those PURPORTING TO DO HORRIBLE ACTS IN THE ISLAMIC name. That's a fact that is simply drowning out the voice of the ordinary Muslim.
These ordinary Muslims to date have been very quiet in condemning many of the atrocities or vitriol their faith has committed. That's to their shame. But I do feel some are beginning to be heard which is to their credit.
Another inescapable fact is that their religion is one of war, defeating the enemy and forced converting or the killing of non-believers. The Bible also has many unpalatable statements... so this contradicts many of the faithful statements saying that religion (in general) is one of peace.
It is this failure to stand up to the most basic scrutiny that makes religion resort to shouting you down and violence to simply make it survive.. it is the natural reaction of a person or process under threat that simply has nothing solid to rest their opinion, logic and values on...

Out of interest...
I didn't see the Christian church in the UK condemning the atrocities carried out by the Christians (in the name of Christianity) during the Serb/Croatia conflict....
So why should the Muslims here do that for those idiots in the Sudan!

pre madona mods
bleedin hell i tried starting a thread on this when the news broke and i got banned by the gutless mods who don't like to hear what a white taxpaying law abiding fat bloke has to say! be it racist or not there all views weather you like it or not.
Why cant you discuss sensitive stuff as long as you do it in a orderly fashion.
i simply asked the question "of mohammed" was such a special name then why are there rakes of them clogging up our prisons? if they see this name as sacred i just don't get it.

Apparently the Bear (the real thing, not the Teddy) is seen as a violent and dangerous creature in their culture and they got upset because of the associated insult to their prophet......

your aggressive replies were a bit unnecessary though

Christianity doesn't have a hypothetical "Global Brotherhood" or ummah unlike the other lot. Unfortunately the brotherhood is usually only good at doing negative stuff (irrational cartoon riots anyone?) rather than doing in anything remotely positive. All IMHO of course

And that's all in my opinion

If I look at the well-document problems in those communities in the UK with respect to education, health and employment, my assertion about the understated efficacy of the brotherhood with respect to helping their brethren positive achievements would appear to be upheld.
The negative actions and reactions of the brotherhood are simply too numerous to be ignored. Especially their p1ss poor Eurovision entries
