Lee - am just about to go to bed, but thanks for the explanation, I really appreciate it. Have bookmarked this thread (can't search now ) and will sit down with both TV and DVD spec sheets to try to understand it. One thing is, I assume (!) that as both are samsung, they should be quite compatible.
