New Car Price Problem..
Picked up the car 1st march this year, got the service book in June IIRC. Subaru Uk had a problem with printing enough or something. Wasn't bothered though as my 1st service is on Subaru's system and I have the receipt, so will get book stamped next time.
Fair play mate, a good few months then.
I phoned Motorpoint the other day to chase them up, and they said they are having difficulty getting them, and have quite a few outstanding. Liaco meanwhile are not answering my emails.
Interesting thread.
I've owned my present bugeye for 6 years, I bought as an EU import and saved myself about £5k by so doing. Value now is the same as a UK car, so it was worth doing. I never needed to use the warranty and a warranty value I'd argue isn't that great with reliabity of Scoobs on the whole.
Had I needed to trade it during its early years I would have struggled as a p/ex - Scoob dealers wouldn't touch it, and the UK public are wary of going to imports. I could have sold it at a price I guess, and still been better off than using a dealer. But the point is I couldn't have the ease of trading in.
Now onto the new model. I quite like it, but having read the reports and seen one its over priced. Question is will IM have to re-price? They have form in this area. IIRC when bugeyes came out at first they were priced at £22k
and they got reduced to £20k. Now I'm a big scoob fan, but I wouldn't buy the model at the prices they're on offer for. I suspect others will be in the same boat, and the sales will not be good. Ergo a price reduction will follow. My hunch is that this time next year the new price will be £18K for the WRX and £22k for the Sti. Still too much IMHO, but more tempting.
Me? I'd always buy the import. I know how much IM make on these cars and I'm not prepared to line their pockets. You do need to have your eyes open though.
