No card on the mat either!!

Now, he/she may have knocked at the wrong door? Left the card in the wrong door? They state it was a White Door (I guess 99% of houses have a white door!)

E-Buyer couldn't have been better about it, they rang CityLink and told them to attempt delivery tomorrow, good service from E-Buyer

We shall see if they arrive tomorrow then!?
Apparently they are known for leaving a card without knocking because the drivers are so overloaded with things to deliver that they will save a bit of time where they can.

I had a lot of trouble a short time ago with the same firm. It is interesting to read peoples' comments on their service in general.

It's a bit sad when a delivery driver doesn't deliver - ON PURPOSE!!!

Whats the world coming to, why don't we get what we pay for anymore?

In the 1970's Customer Service was really bad .... the 80's saw it improve a bit, the 90's saw a great leap forward.

Now, it seems, we are back in the bad service arena again!

Pete,

Have you checked with all the staff in your home? One of them may have signed for the package and not told you about it...

WooooHoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Goods just arrived

CityLink chappie explained about yesterday - he visited about 11am (not 13:03) ....... no-one in. Which would have been correct ..... his Scanner wasn't working, so the Depot inputted his times when he arrived back (at 1pm!).

So, there we have it ..... oh, yes, the card ..... he had a new trainee lad on board yesterday and he didn't do it as requested

I think CityLink are GREAT!!!

Right, now for CURRYS to come good!!?? Rather a bigger task, that one!!

I bet collecting it from their yard isn't an option, as you live a fair way from them...

Its not a scam to earn more money by the drivers - They are paid for set hours no matter what they deliver.

A lot of them are owner drivers, so if they work anything like ours do (Fedex) they are paid per piece.
However ours are NOT paid for failed delivery attempts.

Can't speak for every branch, but we don't have a single owner driver at the Newcastle branch.

Sub-contracted drivers from time to time, same as most places.

What 4x4Bob said is correct.

I am an Owner Driver for Parcelfarce. Their policy is no delivery, no money. So I always come back with an empty VAN!!. (Even if that means delivering 5 doors away with a Sig!!.)
Just as a matter of interest, Citylink PAYE drivers in general don't have more than 60-80 drops on a day. (I am mates with several of them). My daily average is 100 plus approx 20 collections. My daily mileage is approx 200.

Todays experience with Citylink - some computer gear I ordered from Ebuyer arrived today. Driver knocked on door, my missus answered. The driver said "got two boxes for you". The missus couldn't see any boxes so naturally asked where they were.

The answer? "In the van. You'll have to come and get them"

So she did. We live in a second floor flat.

That's a bit off. He should have brought them to your door, you can carry them upstairs though, unless asked nicely of course. Presuming you have a communal door/intercom system.

Anything heavy, unmanageable on my own, I knock on the door, ask if there's anyone to help. If there is, all well and good, if not then they aren't getting it.

The communal door was open. He came up to the 2nd floor to ask SWMBO to come down two floors to carry the boxes upstairs herself

I really don't see the point in doing that. Fair enough if it was a case of "You couldn't give me a hand with them could you?"

But, to waste time walking up the stairs without you parcels. I'm presuming it was nothing heavy/bulky you were waiting for.

The levels of stupidity of some City Link drivers doesn't surprise me though, having seen some of the numpties that have passed through the doors at the Newcastle branch, where I work. 5 long years and counting.

Just ordered a network adaptor online, got to the checkout page and the default delivery option was Citylink.

Fortunately there was an option to pay extra and have it sent Royal Mail Special Delivery.

A friend of mine had some silver bars delivered. Out of the window, he saw the courier pull up and get the package out of the back. He obviously felt the weight of it, and put it straight back into the truck - then sat in the front for a couple of minutes before driving off. My mate gave chase and got him to pull over. The guy claimed he couldn't find the house.

Just a point, all couriers are only insured to the front door. That includes the top floor of a block of flats. So the driver was being a lazy c**t.
