might be needing our own ferry at this rate...

might be worth asking ferry lot if theres a chance of a discount for a group booking? i.e pay all tickets in one go then

A load of us went over about 3 years ago for a week when the Manx Rally was on ... we tried to get a discount, but they werent having any of it ...

But on a higher note, you will all love it over there ... excellent driving roads, all the TT track is marked out and dont forget " no speed limits "

We hired a cottage for the week, but if you were wanting a cheaper option than BnB you could always use tents ... (just an idea ... lol)

 

Dave can you send me the information about the cottages please... just an idea

no turned out expensive lol, about 3 and half grand, although i didn't just go for a replacement, went straight cut.

the roads are fantastic, and the lack of speed limits is rather daunting, but you soon get used to it lol

 

Yeah, t'other half has done it for years on a bike, but it will be the first time for the car

no, only been the once, will be back though

its funny cos there you are thrashing **** out of your car, and see a police car, o s$*t!!!!! you go past it doing a ton, and the just watch you and dont even bat an eyelid lol

 

Do they do you for going too slow? lol I aint the fastest driver int world.

 

lol, nah alot of the locals give it some over the mountain though so be warned lol

one thing i would say is they will do you if you drive like a burk, so while give it some, do it where its safe to, theres some pretty tight bends, rough patches, and off cambers which can catch you out, so start slow and push as far as you feel happy with, your not in the TT after all

and if you do drive like a burk you'll be done for furious driving, pmsl, which im not sure, but i think either does or very soon will transfer to the mainland

thanks for that although i think if theres a few couples going i doubt they will want to share there rooms lol ..... but was just a thought cheers

okay just having a look at whats available for where to stay and was wondering what do you all prefer to do ... would you like to stay in a hotel or would you like to stay in self catering cottages ?

cottages will gives us our own space away from the masses plus secure parking.

whereas

hotels will all be fully catered for ?

up to yourselves now !!!

i shall post up some options for cottages/barns

and do a search for some hotels i will try my best to find ones where the cars are parked off the main road too.

 

i'm easy just go with the flow???
