I think some idiots ON HERE need to perhaps see the in-car footage of this incident before casting aspertions about THIS incident, before slagging off the driver!!

What part of "THIS incident" did you have a problem in comprehending from my post?
I'm sick to death of witch hunts happening on here.
I am not defending his driving on any other occasion and am only specifically talking about THIS incident and what happened prior to it.

look at the video and you will see his braking points getting earlier and earlier he was defo getting trouble before the incident. He is faster than me going in to tower but he starts braking at the kink that is way early. His driving style wears brakes and tyres so quickly, look at prebs in the orange evo so smooth.
I would happily go wheel to wheel with Gary or the other evo,s but not simon.

Stoneface,
I think you would unsettle the car if you had no brakes, whilst approaching a bend at over 100mph.
I have been in this situation first hand, having brake fluid fail the system at over 100mph when approaching a 90deg right hander on track. Believe me, your backside goes ten to the dozen and the first thing you think is "I'm dead".

Anyway back to your point, whats all this about jeleousy ? Nobody is jeleous of what Simon Norris has achieved in his business as we all wish a fellow enthusiast well, he is obviously a very good tuner.
What a lot of people are questioning is his driving ability and his driving style, ive seen him live on track and i have seen lots of footage of Simon and he is an accident waiting to happen. I always get the feeling from watching him that its only a matter of time before he is going to lose it, he gets the car unbalanced and out of shape because of his aggression and scruffy driving style.
He isn`t smooth enough, never mind all his crashes because he has been lucky on numerous other occasions where he has been close to losing it and he as got away with it. He has badly damaged 2 competitors cars in his last 2 big accidents, lets just hope that him and the other innocent people keep on walking away from these big accidents as its a fine margin between walking away from these big accidents and not.

Sticky Micky,
No, he has not been in touch with us about this thread.
rabskyline,
Trolling
Re-read what I have EXPLICITLY said about THIS event and SPECIFIC incident only!
Since you state that the webmaster is not a professional driver..... it just goes to show what you ACTUALLY know, or in this case do not know.
As regards to the idiots bit.... well, that was related to some not all. Of course we all know that there are many who think they all know about something when they clearly do not. If the cap fits!
My response was purely down to the brake failure issue..... nothing else!
If you can't take it, don't dish it...... plain and simple.
If all else fails, feel free to read the mood at the bottom of the webmasters post signatures.
Very rarely does this account have to post in such a manner..... you can bet your bottom dollar if it happens, it is for a VERY good reason.

well the one thing i noticed was apart from thinking simon driving was suspect but looked like great fun if u were in the passenger seat was the fact of how the red evo wich was underpowerd compaired to simons car kept realling him in through the bends sign of a better driver not sure !!!!!!!
#78
I think the red Evo is running a GT35R, good for the best part of 600bhp and therefore in theory, pretty much on a par with Simons car. Higher rev limit on Simons car, 8500rpm vs 8000.

Not sure if the point has already been raised... but....
Im curious why you would select neutral when realising you have lost your brakes.
I know there were only seconds to react, but it just seems a strange thing to do.

In fairness as the dust has settled, looks like Simon avoided a far more serious crash....
The footage here from 11 mins in gives an idea of what went on.
http://www.norris-designs.co.uk/May%20day%20crash.wmv
However throughout the vid there are some very questionable moments. Not however directly relating to this accident.
He is probably a damn sight better driver than me, but his handling does come into question at times.
