I've found myself driving with my lights on more and more. If doesn't really (in the grand scheme of things) cost you and it may just make the difference between someone pulling out on you and not... I remember driving through the Scandinavian countries a few years ago and even in broad daylight on the motorway, it made a huge difference to how aware you were of the cars around you.

On that basis I'd rather be viewed as having my lights on too much than not enough.

I use mine when it's overcast (sidelights), or when I'm making progress (dipped).

Perhaps more to the point why don't people feel the need to put any lights on during very heavy fog (i.e. this morning and it ws mostly mums on the school run)?? Still amazes me how little attention some people pay when driving.

I agree with that, shocking. On the way to the vets this morning, very misty, and hardly any lights on.
With the winter mornings creeping in now, there will be more, so lets hope some people get some sense soon.

Probably right. In which case, I will rest assured that at least my car is lit

Its a nice theory, but it certainly not foolproof. Couple of years back I had 2xdipped on, then going to 2xmain beam and 2xdriving lights. Still the numbskull pulled out and wrote my car off

Then he says to me, "that was 50/50 mate"

"What, 50% of you is blind, and the other 50% forgot to look?"
