Very underestimated and very capable.
Agreed but getting on a bit now and I'd be scared of the warranty/servicing.

I'd love a CTR - the only thing that puts me off is the (supposedley) lack of steering feel, are they that bad?

They seem a bit more sharp, and robust then the likes of a 172/182

but i have not drove either the Honda or any hot Clio so i cant comment really

The steering is what put me off the CTR. No feel and waaaay too light.

Granted the steering in a CTR is a tad light, however, once you get used to it the car comes into its own.

I've yet to hear of anyone who owned a CTR and was disappointed.

I've owned a DC2 'teg and a CTR...and I was not impressed with the Civic - although I can see what Honda were doing (and have done so even more with the new one).

The DC2 is extremely raw in comparison to the EP3 to be fair though, you feel everything through the DC2. The same would be said of the EP3 in comparison to the FN2. The EP3 is a happy medium and for the cash at which you ca pick one up these days, they are a superb buy! I still miss VTEC

The old S3's aren't particularly fast, are expensive for what they are and are a tad on the boring side.

If looking for a hot hatch I'd go for a CTR, Focus RS or the Megane F1 with all the silly numbers after its name.
