its funny waiting for the green man at the pedestrian crossing with a trolly full of food [/QUOTE]
What do green men eat, then?
Seriously though, this action by Asda is almost certainly in response to the recent survey on the use/abuse of designated disabled bays, which found that up to 43% of these bays were being used by able-bodied motorists. This percentage varied between supermarket chains and to a lesser extent between geographic areas. My own observations suggest that a large proportion of the offenders are the drivers of big 4X4s who haven't the skill to park in ordinary bays.

If its private land, yes, they can issue a fine, but no way to collect it.
If its public/council land, which it might be, then yes, you could be fined in the same way you could if parking on a disabled space in the street.
Although, arguably, that wouldn't apply to parent and child spaces unless bylaws passed?

BTW, I saw a Lambourghini in a normal space in the supermarket the other day. If someone who drives a £100K super car to the supermarket thinks it's OK, then a £10K car shouldn't get special treatment, should it!?

Personally I say if you're that fooking worried about your car and loose that much sleep over a parking ding either get a second car or sell it and buy something you dont give a damn about.
I take my 4x4 to the supermarket/town.. Someone can smack their door against it all day long if it gives them thrills and I couldnt give a ****..
When I see people parked accross two spaces in their performance cars I park right up next to the drivers door just to be a c**t.. And if I see people parked in Disabled bays without a badge I'll chuck a coin at the body work..

I would like to see the car park segregated to seperate male driver areas and female driver areas
Oh and an old duffers area, which will have armco either side the space to protect adjacent cars

Is private clamping still legal in England? Been banned in Scotland for years. No council clamping either. The foockers just lift your car onto a flatbed

About time too!! I hope Sainsbury's follows suit
I'm sick of ********* in X5's parking in the parent spaces going in for their single persons frozen meals
Until you have kids you don't notice this at all, but its such hard work parking in a "normal" space then trying to get a child out the back doors without bumping the next car, and I hate car park dings myself so I always avoid doing it to others.
I do make a point of telling people what I think when they have no kids, or are not disabled and park in those spaces

been reading this thread and i always thought that if private land is open to the public or the public have access to it then the road trafic act 1974 applies?
so shouldn't the land be patroled by real trafic wardens not work staff?
