Hi peeps,

Right have had a positive reply from my graphics source, who is willing to have a go at recreating the graphic below in vinyl cut form. Unfortunately he cannot do the Scottish Saltire as this would require a digital printer which he doesn't have. As this is for charity he is willing to do the first batch free of charge then charge £45.00 per 100 afterwards. These would be available in white or black with maybe some other colours depending on demand. I know the Scottish Saltire looks good on this design but these can be purchased separately if required. Not wanting to take any thing away from anyone but this sounds bloody good to me.

Regards all Scott.

I have an idea, since different people want different designs why don't we get both designs done. Option 1 both in sticker form and as vinyl cut and Option 2 as sticker. If one person was to take on the handling of 1 design then they shouldn't be hit with 1000's upon 1000's of requests, just a few 1000. Then once they sold all their batch/s they forward all monies less costs to Scoobynet for final totaling. Only an idea.

Also can we try and keep this to one post ,as opposed to starting many as it is getting confusing.

Regards Scott

Defintiely Tony, there is SUCH a lot of work involved it's unreal. I had to do a similar thing with stickers for the old renault forum I used to go on when I had my R19 16v.....and wow I didnt' realise just how much I'd let myself in for like! Might sound selfish, but that's the only reason I'm not offering now to do these like.....cuz I just know we couldn't do it cuz we're mentally busy at work at the mo. Would just end up letting you guys down, and wouldn't wanna do that.

By the way, if whoever ends up making the stickers needs any artwork off me for the design (the font I used, or whatever) then just PM me or something and I'll sort it out

Totally agree with above, thats why I think it would be better if we go with a few designs from different printers/makers, that way we don't swamp one manufacturer with a hideous demand for little or no return. Every one wants to help on this, it shows how high a regard we all had for Colin.

* Important Announcement *

Okay people, we seem to be getting a little lost on this whole task. I think it high time that we come to an agreement on what is best and what we , as a community, want to do.

Please be aware that I am only doing this organising as it is a small gesture to get the ball rolling so to speak. I am not the designer (okay I did one design ), nor will I will be printing the stickers, not taking the funds.
I simply thought someone needed to get things moving via the Poll and showing the various designs we had on offer. If people want me to get involved in a larger capacity then I will

Reading all the posts on this thread and on the Poll thread, it seems pretty clear that we have:

1. Agreed on the basic design (option 1 is currently at 62% in favour)
2. Havent got a print company that can handle both the design nor the quantities as yet
3. Have new designs entering the scope
4. Have people questioning the logistics and bizzarely the reasoning behind the stickers
5. Have loads of support and loads of offers on various scales.

So as you can see, i think, as a community, we need to do the following:

1. Agree on the design or agree that maybe there is room for two designs
2. get either one or two companies to do the work and agree the price and how people order
3. Get the blooming things out the door

I am open to any suggestions, whether it be starting another poll, sorting out the stages in getting the stickers out to people etc.

Was it yourself that come up with the design? If it was you mate then you've done a cracking job.

I agree with Tony, it looks like we have a firm favourite concerning the design. Opition1. If we can get these done in say vinyl cut, sticker form and inside glass form ,from say 3 suppliers (1 design per supplier) then all requirements should be met and everyone should be covered. I should have a prove of the Vinyl cut one tomorrow if it works, when I get it I will post it up so everyone can see.

well the poll still runs until the 22nd, so we should wait until everyone has had a vote (though if there are 70,000 members, then 220 votes is a bit low )

So we like Option 1, but need it in:
* Vinyl cut
*sticker form
*inside glass (cling film style)

and it has to be reversed as well or am I just getting that bit wrong

Okay, so the next step is for someone to communicate with the guys off SIDC and find out how they are doing it and get 3 suppliers onboard and commited.

any other ideas how best to proceed ?

Guys just to clarify

EmEm and Robbie have taken the bull by the horns and started the production of option one and by all accounts have considerable interest
From the SIDC point of view they just asked me to oversee the finance for 2 reasons
1. No Charity has yet been identified
2. They did not want to be seen as profiteering

If you wish to discuss what they are doing please PM EmEm on Scoobynet

Thanks

Phil
