It wouldn't have been a problem on the humber bridge, they'd only have dropped about 2ft.

Mind you they did have that other bridge years ago which collapsed due to the effects of the wind setting it off into an unstable rocking motion which continued unti the bridge gave up!

Its a pretty terrible occurrence and it is very lucky that there were not more people killed. Its a hell of a large bridge to collapse just like that!

Hope no one else gets injured or killed.
