An update to the title question...........
The answer would seem to be not very!!
Had some Prodrive springs fitted last week but was advised to wait 1k miles for them to 'settle' before getting the geometry done. This was the first i'd heard of waiting before getting it done but thought the dealer knew best so took his advice and left it.
Then was told on here that i should have it done asap - took further advice and this was backed up by a specialist.
Took it in this morning to have the geometry done at Carnetix in Melton Mowbray and was told by Glenn and Becky that the front spring top plates had been put on wrong and were out of position !!!
Got on the blower to the dealer and after a discussion it was agreed that they would pay Carnetix to rectify the spring plates.
Now,i'm not going to name and shame on this occasion as the service manager was decent about it and agreed to Carnetix doing the work rather than having to travel back there to get them sorted, then back to Carnetix to get the Geometry sorted again.
This is basic stuff, how can they get these things wrong?
A big shout to Glenn and Becky for spotting it and being very nice people !

I used two different main dealers while my Scoob was still under warranty. Both of them managed some fairly major screw ups including sorting out a over boost problem by completely disabling the boost control so I only had 0.5bar
Independents all the way now

pricing though isn't their fault really, if the independents had to keep the amount of stock new and used as well as all the tooling and training courses and lets not forget the £3k worth of nsm3 we have just had to pay out for then you would see their prices skyrocket.

If you are capable, do it yourself.
Always remembering the performance potential of these cars.
The sentiments in this thread can be seen on Motoring and Owners Forums across the 'net.
Me, I've always had problems with the standards from dealers, Franchised and Independent, whatever the make, across decades.
I basically only use Franchised dealers while the warranty is in force.
I've used Independents for the Scooby but sadly not been totally happy with them either.
Currently wondering whether to go complain to tha Nissan Main Dealer who carried out the 2nd year service on Mrs. Vegescoob's Micra 160SR.
Including a brake and clutch fluid change. I supplied 1 litre of brake fluid, got 1/2 back and looking underneath I discover the dustcap missing from the n/s rear bleed nipple. This suggest to me a quick bleed from that nipple only. That isn't a change. So now I suppose I've got to do it myself.
So, I ask, was a new oil filter fitted etc etc.
I'm prepared to pay for proper service but as with so much else today it would appear that isn't enough.
I don't know what the answer is.
