If any Snetters are in the Peterborough area at the weekend, Round 5 of the UK & European hovercraft championship is taking place at Whittlesey.
If you haven't seen hovercraft racing then nows the time.
their will be racing in all formulas F1, FX, F2, F3, Juniors, F35 & Novices.
so a full calander of races throughout the day and if your really lucky, you may see Pissy strutting his stuff
Ok prehaps not pissy but i will be there hopefully aiming for some more silverware
Its on the B1040 Whittlesey to Thorney road. Practice starts from around 10AM

Well, ive just got back sadly the weekend was a total bust
I managed one and a half laps of the course in the practice session, and threw the rear flange on my lower drive pulley.
Subsequent repairs and tests still didn't resolve the problem and i retired from the rest of the races.
Still it was spectacular to watch the racing for a change, and there were many airborne mishaps due to the wind, and a few broken bones as well
not me btw
still i've got 5 weeks until the next event

i think there's a diggerland.com, but basically there are 4 round the country and we went to the one in Rochester, Kent.
£12.50 for the day
They had one of these converted for about 15+ people and they take you round a muddy track and trhough 4ft water puddles, etc (by the way, they're bloody fast!)
My advice: go when it's a bit dull and it's been wet. dress to get muddy and drenched - you and your kids will love it.
there was also a kart track with electric karts for 5-14 year olds that looked great fun
