Your post is still inaccurate and misleading. I'll leave it to you to work out your error this time.

I recall the day you were in my MY03 WRX and you were MOST impressed with the performance of the TD04 hybrid as you grasped tighter on to the seat !

hello andy
i have a classic, 2.5 with vf22 and gems ecu, on a RR it did 320/330bhp and similar torque, the cars pulls from 2k, and the torque graph looked near vertical, but runs out of puff quite quickly above 5.5k, it has a tmic, was thinking of a fmic , but don't want to lose low down power just a bit of a wider power curve, could it be done with a remap????
plus the "engine check" light comes on over 140mph???

any help would be appreciated, thanks H

I only feel the need to correct your posts when you attempt to redirect a potential customer away from one of my products.

Your post is still inaccurate and misleading. I'll leave it to you to work out your error this time.

I typed VF and TD wrong way round Andy. That was obvious from what I said earlier. This was a careless typo and not done to influence anyone away from your Hybrid TD04 which is an excellent fast spooling turbo and a good choice if you want something with capability to reach up to 300-320 bhp and yes some may make more or less.
If you think my typo was an attempt to redirect a potential customer then I guess you are deluded.

TD turbos are more rugged than VFs which can overspeed so we agree on that which is already clear from my previous posts.

Your car with the Hybrid TD04 was very impressive and other cars with the same turbo that I have driven have also been impressive compared to their O/E TD04 performance. I have never said anything bad about your Hybrid 04 and it is a good choice if you want fast spool and low 300s bhp. Beyond that there are other alternatives.

My regard for the TD04 Hybrid is not influenced by any issues I have with you. Like I said it is very good in the right application in the low 300s and a quick turbo for cross country driving at that level.

Time for another thread hijack.

Do ported headers provide a noticeable performance gain, or do they simply lower the spool ?

Andy (not F ).
