And a bugatti veyron, widely thought to be one of the fastest cars ever made and raved about in many places, weighs much more still. So what? That still doesn't make 1300-1400 kilos a "lightweight car", even for an Astra/Focus sized hatch. Caterhams, atoms and even Citreon AX's are really light, and something like a Clio 172 is just over a tonne, which I'd accept as being light. A classic impreza is a bit over 1200kg, which is light for what it is. On here Bugeyes etc are called "lardy" at 1380kg for a WRX, and yet in a Beemer somewhere between 1300-1400, or maybe over 1.5 tonnes is a "well done for having the ***** to make it", lightweight car?

Not saying 13-1400 IS lightweight, it just seems to be accepted as the norm.
Not seen a single write up on a 3 series or Focus (or anything else pretty heavy) that mentions them being heavy - even though they are.
Seems weight is yet another "pick and choose" issue - some cars get labelled lardy, others seem to get away with it.
