I agree with the online racing as well, haven't done any since these trials began and I also hadn't touched the career mode either until last night. Much prefer the online racing to the time trials!

Oh and did you do your time with the wheel or controller? I did mine with the wheel last night just out of sheer annoyance that I would learn to use it properly but now I think I could go quicker with the controller!
I had a play with the setup. changed the gears and stiffened it up somewhat. then started playing with the downforce. I've used the controller. I tried the wheel and feel I could be as fast if I did an almost perfect lap but the controller allows me far quicker corrective input. I feel the car understeers so much more using the wheel. I'm going to check the settings and see if I can improve things there.

With the online racing I'm not that fussed about where I finish as long as I have some good close racing with whoever is around me on the track. That's the best fun. Need to get back into that.

How about a weekly 48hr time trial instead of it lasting a week? It would then stop us focusing on the time trial 24x7 and make way for some online/career mode action

Cheers mate, but you should see it when it goes pear shaped ! Think im actually slightly quicker than with TCS on, as I tried it the other night out of interest and found it just holds the car back - find I use the throttle to steer the car out of the corner.

After reading other comments, i'm happy to reduce the length of time on TT, as mentioned were not having many online races anymore. Not that i've done any online races yet !

If we reduce the time though some people (myself included) might not have time to even have a go. You don't have to spend all week doing the TT lol. You can still do some online racing in between!
I'll be online tonight for my first attempt at a time.

Improved my time marginally last night but agree with others that between doing the SN Time Trials and furthering the career doesn't leave much time to race online.
Maybe the SN Time trials should be bi-weekly?

I bet you could if you took off ABS though! (as long as you don't lock up the wheels anyway )

How about what someone (can't remember who) mentioned. TT and then the top 8 go for head to head racing over xx laps followed by top 8-16 race etc etc

Alternative suggestion - make the Challenge a lot longer - like a month. Then you don't get through them as fast, and there's not such a pressure to play the challenge so much just to get a decent time?

Finally got round to doing a time last night. Think it was 48.7. Perhaps someone can confirm if they have me on their scoreboard.
Told me mate about it last night and he busted out a 48.4 within about 4 laps!
Not gonna try again so thats my final time for this challenge.

Ah! You *******, I just put in a few laps and stopped when I was on the Scoobynet podium, only to find you're all doing Hot Laps and I was in Time Trial!

All that jumping around the room waving an imaginary trophy for nothing!

WAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Just set my best time, thought I was in the groove, went for another lap and ZAP... Frozen

Took a photo cause I wanted proof of the time that I'll never get to repeat
This was with no aids in the #46 Fairlady. You can see I was only on lap 5 before the 360 gave up

Without the fabled rings of death I don't really want to send it back (the process they get you to go through before returning it basically means wiping your game saves off the HD). It's been ok lately though, I think it just likes to spite me... "oh good he's started to think I'm not going to freeze, I'll just wait till his guard is down and he's doing something that will be really annoying if I stop and he looses it"
Where can you get the core pack from for that price still? I knew a couple of months ago Boots were doing it but can 't find any deals like that now.

Just had a quick go and I can't drive that car for toffee (add it to the long list!). I can't remember my time, but it's quicker than B2Z and StickyMicky. 52.something, IIRC. Only another 5 seconds to find, which I'm probaly losing in the clumsy drifts, copious wheelspin, over use of the brakes and general rubbishness

Last edited by NotoriousREV; Jul 15, 2007 at 11:11 PM. Reason: Wanted to add: it's 52.273 ;)

My final time in the #46 was 47.7xx using just ABS with my average being 47.9xx - will confirm when forzamotorsport.net is back up and running. To get a faster time I need a better understanding of tuning as I felt the tyres were losing too much grip on the last corner.
