Frayz's little tuning update..
!More user friendly would be nice, but used to mine now after sitting in London traffic.... out in the Dengie was much nicer!

Yeah, if its possible its more expensive lol.
Ive used Zaks one and its quite usable, however i'll have to get used to the instant ****** on takeup. At least this one should be a fit/forget item.
Should cope with plenty more than i expect to throw at it.

so just for reference, what will a standard clutch take? 300 / 300?
Good luck with your engine build.

Matt my stock clutch is coping with approx 400/340 Zaks one was still putting up with 430/380.
Hopefull i'lll try and document some of the engine build. Just so you guys can see the uber expensive bits that you'll never get to see otherwise

Nothing much to shout about but my Tial 50mm race BOV turned up today. Its a V-band design that has a separate weld on flange it fixes to. The flange is coming separate as i need a stainless on for my pipework. Once thats here i'll get this fitted.
Slightly overkill but this thing is massive. Should have no trouble at all dumping the air out of the system in double quick time.
No really a fan of BOVs but the car has a slight jerk to it on the gear changes at lower RPM with the new cooler. Hopefully once im running a blow through MAF on the new engine along with the Tial it should be sweet.
Just look at the build quality!!

Its at Mocom so about 30 miles
LOL
All joking aside i was gonna build it before i went to the WRC in August but i dont want to deadline so im gonna build it on my return.
Might even start assembly beforehand but i wont go in until im home.
Just some -AN fittings and some headwork to py for now.

Its running with a DV delete at the mo Stu. I love the sound but the car dosnt drive aswell. If the Tial doesnt improve it then i'll go back to the delete.

What do you think you gain by going blow through MAF frayz as opposed to ditching the MAF system and going speed density instead? That would solve the dump valve / jerkiness issue that you created with the DV delete in itself without the need for 50mm BOV's.
Not more tinsel, and still no engine build
First ya need a clutch, now after the WRC, maybe best get Xmas out the way?
Stop dragging ya heels and just do it!
Let up for second, what about let up for a month or two?

Cool, I know our cars are set up very differently but it would be interesting to see the difference. Especially as the perception I had is that it was better without on my car.

Blow through will be fine as its always seeing metered air. So no need for speed density. Pluis the blow through will enable the use of the MAF for direct ACT measurement that the ECU will see, not just a gauge for me to see.
Neil,
Why rush im in no competition. Ive waited this long to do it and do it right why rush it now? I want to spend time when the engine is out getting everthing the way i want it. New brackets, relacations etc etc.
Just imagine what other nice bits i can have on the xmas list then

Yeah i'll seen it done and looks the nut's and see APS being one of the best around....where's the best place to get one???? ZAK???
Surely you will still have the issue of a pegged maf sensor and lack of resolution up there on your 300g/sec limited ecu? Unless you mount in huge pipework, get new pipes for the induction kit, IC pipes etc - cost wise SD is cheaper and a better ultimate solution.
Your OE ECU can even be hacked to make it a speed density system for virtually no charge and you can dump all the MAF and related metered air issues for good without spending on blow through kits or getting custom pipework made to only find out you are still limited by the ecu's restrictions.
