Fail to see any gain there Nate. The outter race on the aircon weighs sod all anyway.
Also the steel inner hub will wear the **** off of the ally in no time.

Today saw a few goings on with the car.
Firstly it was taken to Zak so he could alter my MAF scaling since the swap to a different intake system. This was the first time the car has been touched since the cooler was fitted.
What we found was that we were able to run the same boost (1.7bar) and the same ignition that we had previously ran with meth/toluene on normal pump fuel.
This was really showing how much less restriction the cooler had over the old topmount and at how much cooler our charge temps were.
Lag has incresed slightly but not that i actually notice it. The lag is lower down, but seeing as i never drive in the lower rpm range this really isnt an issue for me. The pros far outweigh the cons in this area for me.
Secondly i decided to take a long route home tonight (working lates) and really bed in the new Pagid RS29 pads. These were warmed through with a series of medium stops followed by 5 big stops from high speed down to 20mph. This got the pads very very hot to the point they smelt aweful. This was then followed by me driving approx 15 miles at approx 40/50mph without touching the brake pedal at all. This allows the pads to cool evenly and bed in properly.
Then the next application of the brake pedal cleans the faces and the pads are ready to use.
Use them i did, as i wanted to see just how good the intercooler was. The results are pretty stunning to be honest.
For approx 10 miles of my favorite country lanes i gave the car absolute death. Death to the point where i had got the EGTs to over 880 degrees c and the oil up to a whopping 110 degrees c.
The ambient air temp this evening was 14 degrees outside and with all the stick i could throw at it the highest reading i saw was 16.8 degrees c at the throttlebody. The lowest was 11.2 degrees c. The temps sat at around the 12 degrees mark and thats where they stayed.
I was shocked to be honest as even i didnt expect it to be that good.
My old STI cooler was very very good but that still saw temps in the 30's at full tilt, exceptional for a topmount. But now you really can see just how good the APS unit is.
The car still isnt mapped in the higher gears so im careful in those but i have to say im delighted with the performance of the cooler.
Roll on 2.5ltr
Oh and my new Phormula KS3 showed knock to be well under control... cheers again Mogs

Yeah, really like em mate. At last a can enjoy abusing the brakes the way i want. Those DS2500s were shocking and i could fade them without issue almost anywhere. Funk knows how some people use em on track... must be driving miss daisy?
Its nice to finally have a pad that really excells when you give it some stick and the harder i used them the better they got. They are a litty dirty on the rims, but this maybe just the initial bedding in. Eitherway i like em alot.
Need better rubber now as they find the linits of gip on the tyres quite quickly lol
Cookie.
The KS3 is a doddle to install and easy to use. It does want setting up with a set of det cans though. I did have a "ping" last night when abusing the car and this howed up really well, it was only one ping though. Nice to know ive got something that works as nice as the KS3

Okay, sorry for the crap fone pics, but this is just a mock up.
If you can lose sight of the dirty car, rubber bib and gaffer tape lol, what do you think?
Just a mock up but gives a good impression as to what can be possible with a little work
