Yeah I've changed the gearing and downforce, gearing mainly to allow me to do what I said above about using a higher gear to pull me through those S bends without oversteer.

I've always gone with a "one car fits all" approach and adjusted my driving style instead.
Only track I tinker with any settings is on the oval, when I reduce the downforce.

Did the same thing when tuning an A class Impreza - adjusted the antiroll bar and toe, camber etc to try and eliminate a bit of understeer and it made things worse so I put everything back to default and now as someone said last night "you got that thing on a scalextric track?"

Specc'ed up my Scooby and thought I'd try and 'tune' it, the more I adjusted it the worse it handled and the slower I went.
Saved the setup for the Oval but now I just have whatever the default setups are for each of the cars.

Nice times lads
If your moving on car/track before the start of next week I'll just give the older car/track combo a try when I can.
IT's going to good seeing if I can get a good time from the wheel when compared to the sticks of messiah. For me the TCS ABS is allways the fastest method but both are on for that oh **** moment. Nothing worse than no ABS then getting the braking wrong and hitting the wall

cool, I've also gone aids free tonight and believe its the fastest way, but as I didn't finish work (big contract) til 9pm I've switched it back off after 5 laps cos I'm cross-eyed!
Are you doing that with wheel / untuned car?

Tell me about it spent a few laps trying to beat that time. Noticed you had Aids switched off, very impressive mate. 56:003 was the best I could get, will try tommorow after a few less Ciders.

Saw you posted that time last night - good one, I tried again but only got 2 laps in before a load of invites landed - for guess what? 10 laps on Mugello short in R4 cars! Thought I was onto a winner but got pummelled by a pair of Audi's - the GT3 was a lot faster down the straight but I was getting hammered through the S's. Didn't help that I couldnt drive for toffee though - only got 1 lap in the 55's...

I've only got a pad (own a MOMO racing wheel so can't justify buying another gaming wheel
).
I think that time with with a slightly tuned car but I was on course to beat it by 1/2 a second with the default setup but messed up the last corner and gave up before the pad went through the screen

Going to see if I can buy one of the GT3 Cups on auction tonight as still don't have one to try the challenge with. Prices seemt o vary a lot, wish I was at home now as oneis going for buy out of 50k credits where as others are up around 250k!
No worries. I'll be back home about 5'ish so will do it then. I'm going to opt out of this challenge and just spend some time learning to use the wheel. I'd get nowhere near these times at the mo.

In the exhibition matches you get 3 cars unlocked for winning the race.
In the TT's you get 1 car but you only need do the first 5 in order, once you've done the fifth it opens up all the others to do in any order you please.

Not sure, but if you go through the list of TT's it tells you which car is used for that event, and it's that car that becomes unlocked, if its not in the TT list its one of the Exhibition races.

Manufacturer Races in Career - Porsche Sports Car Club.
edit - juts checked the list of exhibition races and the Red Bull GT3 isnt one of the prize cars.
so if its not in the TT's you'll have to unlock through career.

If I can find one on auction for 50k first i'll buy one but otherwise borrowing yours will be great until I do find one at the right price
