With all due respect to wing Chung it would not satnd up to an attacker determined to seriously damage or kill with a baseball bat, knife, machete or gun.
I am not saying that Krav maga is a miracle cure but to prepare you for the street on its own and the speed at which the techniques can be learnt nothing comes near it for the street.

Warren I did not mean it at all like that I have a friend that has done wing chun for many years and I believe him to be one of the hardest (and fastest for that matter) men that I know (and that is saying something). I mean Krav Maga is good for someone who wants to learn something that is effective fast and easily.
If I had the time and money I would defo consider doing Wing Chun...my brother also does it and highly rates it. A thinking 'not so big' mans martial arts.
No doubt Krav maga is a rip off of many martial arts but it is effective and works. As I mentioned before I showed my physically impaired (Problem with walking polio type illness) friend a baseball attack defence and a few weeks later he effectively used it against one of a gang of car jackers. I only showed him the technique a few times.
I respect MOST martial arts (Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Muay Tai, Judo, JKD and Wing Chun especially) and if I had the time I would probably do them all.
I hope I did not offend as that was not what I intended.
