Van persie was a sub alot of the time though

It is great to see the arrogant french nooob packing his bags for Spain... I guess the premiership will miss his skills, but seeing as he has been "tired" for a year and not played, we've already had a year to morn his demise anyway
The comment about Wenger selling his best players for too little cash is incorrect. Firstly theyre only worth what someone is prepared to pay and secondly the two in question are/were at the end of their careers, on their way out etc... No club's going to spend 40million on a player with only 2 years left...
Diego Forlan is available I believe

Yeah Abdadz you're talking rubbish. Fact is they'll make the Henry money back in a year from shirt sales.

my thoughts on this:

Dein goes, then Henry, next will be Wenger and then we will be screwed

You cannot replace the best ever foreign player in the EPL. Show me where you can buy a player who will score an average of 25 league goals a season plus also chip in with 8-10 assists. They don't exist.

The fact we get £16mn is irrelevant. That get's you a Darren Bent!

Also I don't buy this thing about Henry being on the wane. His game is not just pace, so I can see him playing for another 4 years at the very top level, perhaps dropping back into the hole ala Bergkamp when the legs go a bit.

With our spanking new stadium and a big debt, other clubs becoming more wealthy, Dein saw the writing on the wall and realised that we need a sugar daddy. Get Kronke in now, get Dein back on the board. This guy is Arsenal through and through, he always turned up to watch the youths play on a rainy tuesday, he's not your usual board member. He brought in Wenger for christs sake. Get Dein back, get Stan Kronke in, get a new contract for Wenger, cesc stays big names come etc etc

Not at all pissed off with Henry, good luck to him, great player and a great bloke as well (excluding the gallic moodiness). Its just we shouldn't be in this position.

Yeah, it's rubbish to say that something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it! OK A slightly aggressive retort, causing chuckles in my wisdomful head

Re the Zidane fact - fair point. It seems lessons have been learnt in the game since that piece of business, hence 30 somethings no longer commanding such ludicrous values.

Barca have put a release clause in Henry's contract of £84m, how come he was only worth £16m to buy from us then?
I can fully understand why your **** is boiling.
