i have a bugeye and must admit with the comment about it being the slowest impreza about is true, was told that they say the bugeye runs at 215bhp as standard but had it on the RR as standard and it was running 205bhp and the nice man at Scoobyclinic said its right so put on a decat (not full) and now running 218bhp.
Remap it mate.

i have a classic uk model 208bhp which felt really quick when i first got it untill i got surprised by alot of other cars on the road but now with mods and running 285bhp and weighing 1150kg it see's most of them off easily.
1150kg ? What model/year is that mac ?

My Bugeye WRX felt well quick when I got it but was often embarrassed by quite mundane motors including Skoda VRs and even an Astra Turbo. Changed it for STI PPP and not much at all was a match. A decent 300bhp Scoob, Classic or Newage will wipe the floor with your VXRs and GTIs. Problem is there are too many standard UK spec Scoobs that are quite honestly underpowered

LOL not quite. The 4th gear problem was inherent when I first got the box.
It got rebuilt as a precaution and in preperation for what's about to be chucked at it

Hi, regarding the R32 comments:

the current R32 (I have one so read up a fair bit on it) with DSG has a 0-60 time varying between 5.6 and 5.9 (various magazine tests).

Now the great thing about DSG is that you can pretty much get close to those times, over and over again, with relatively low stress to the clutch and gearbox, and far less chance of time-loss during gear changing by being "kind" to the drivetrain.

So the outcome is that whilst not quite as fast compared to an Sti, in reality a DSG R32 will match a not-too-thrashed Sti accelleration, and should be faster than any non-modded WRX unless the Subaru driver is absolutely ruthless with it's machine.

At least this has been my experience comparing my current car with a friends lightly modded Sti.
