Sorry but i have to agree with most on here that the parents are some what responsiable or know where she is. Why on earth leave small children unattended??? a few seconds to choke. weather or not they checked on those children any thing could have happened within that time, I would never contimplate leaving my children 5 and 9 alone no matter if i could see the room or not. Ther seems to be so much coverage for this but what about all the other missing childre?? it really annoys me how the public are just throwing money to the mccanns with out knowing where the remained will go if and when she is found??? There is a girl that lives in my area who has been missing since march now and her parents are not getting half of the help that these parents are getting...
I hope maddie is found safe and well and that this is soon brought to an end.

I did mention to you before that you did not know the difference in spelling my name if female. You must have looked it up at last! 84-300 did remark about it too!

Your apology accepted of course Zippy.

But would you swap places with them under the same circumstances though?

For those that think leaving the kids unattended to go out is OK- If you hired a babysitter and paid them, then found out that they had gone down the pub after you left, would this be equally as acceptable?

So long as they took the kids with them that would be OK

First post on this thread and having read it and watched the McCanns on TV I agree -- something just doesn't sit right with me in all of this...I hope their little girl is okay but if this turned out to be down to them it wouldn't surprise me. Something stinks in all of this and I smell a rat....and wish I didn't.

Leslie,

as far as I know I have never been confused by the difference between a male and female Leslie/Lesley. Maybe I was tugging your chain?

What about sitting in the garden when the kids are in bed? We ofetn sit on the patio in the eve and couldnt hear if the one of the younger ones called out.

We also couldnt hear if a meteor went through the bedroom window either and thats the same odds as them choking on a teddy bear!

What do these paernts that "never leave their kids" do.....walk around all day with a baby monitor to their ear????

in the garden is a little different to being 90 metres away unless you have a huge garden with the view of the lower floor of the house obstructed by a fence/hedge.

would you leave a 3 year in charge of two younger siblings?

That must be some size of fooking garden if you couldn't hear a meteor hitting your house .

Or are you like the McCanns and sitting in a garden in a different town

Whats the difference? If you cant hear them it makes no odds if you are just out of ear shot or lots out of ear shot.

Would i do it on holiday....no......but were the mcans taking a big risk - of course not. The odds of that kid coming to any harm (let alone being kidnapped) were millions to one. They were more likley to be hit by a car on the way to the airport.

Today's quote really takes the biscuit...

This from the couple who have spent lot of our well earned (if we were unfortunate enough to donate) to keep Maddie in the public eye and make the biggest news story ever of a missing three year old girl (did she ever make it to four).

Now they are pissed off because they have played with the searing hot fire of the media and now they have been burned.

That hole wasn't made by a meteor. Meteors burn up before they reach the ground.

An Asteroid then.

But back on topic, wasnt it funny to see Daddy storm off the TV interview, upset by the speculation about him and his wife. Ohh how i laughed.

If you pull the tail of a dog dont get upset if it turns round and bites you.

Now its been announced they are to start legal proceedings against a Portugese news paper for wrongful claims, where are they getting the money from for this, oops i forgot the £1m charity donations.

If they win will they donate any damages awarded to another charity or to their own. I think we all know the answer to that one.

Zippy - their fund is not a registered charity and as such, not subject to the laws that are enforced by the charities comission.

I might have missed this being posted on this thread

But, wasn't there a story about syringe's found in the apartment, leading the police to believe that the Mcann's may have sedated their kids whilst they went off for drinks n food
