It's a businessman's private jet and he's letting them use it to travel round. All at his cost. How you have an issue with that is beyond me. Maybe they have some mp3's on their iPod they downloaded for nothing from the net?

Child goes missing, huge amount of sympathy for parents. Parents start fund. Loads of money comes in. Man makes call, ransom demanded, ransom paid by some mug like Branson. Child returned........ 6 months later the McGanns get their share from the 'kidnapper'.
Sound far fetched?

Some people have very dull lives to have to invent stuff like this.

A mystery phone call from a man claiming to know the whereabouts of missing Madeleine McCann could provide a new lead in the case, it has emerged.
The caller provided such detail that Kate and Gerry McCann put their European search for their daughter on hold in case they needed to act.
The couple were informed of the potential development while in Germany, where they were appealing for information about their four-year-old child. It is 35 days since Madeleine was abducted from her bed in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
The "credible" call was taken from a man who wanted to speak directly to the McCanns, according to a Spanish police source. It was traced to an unregistered pay-as-you-go phone from an unidentified country but not thought to be Morocco, where a previous possible sighting of Madeleine was reported.
The caller did not reveal his identity or nationality, but the information was considered important enough to alert Mr and Mrs McCann, the source said.
At around 3pm on Wednesday, the couple - who were about to go to Tempelhof airport in Berlin to fly on to the Netherlands - were advised that the caller might try to contact them, so they stayed on at the British embassy.
At 6pm, journalists travelling in the eight-seater private jet with the McCanns were told by the flight crew that there might be a change in destination. They revealed they had been asked to draw up a new flight plan involving a possible change from Amsterdam to East Midlands Airport.
It was thought the McCanns might need to go back to the UK to talk to advisers about the call.
But all efforts to re-establish contact with the man failed and the couple decided to go on to Amsterdam. They left Berlin at 7.30pm, three hours later than planned, for the hour-long flight to Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam to continue their search. Mr and Mrs McCann are thought to be on standby, ready to return to the UK if necessary.
A Spanish police source said: "A man called saying he knew where Madeleine was and wanted to speak to the McCanns. This did not appear to be a crank call and the information was felt credible enough to warrant the couple being informed immediately."

and........
While on standby at East Midlands Airport Kate McCann spotted a lovely Rolex in 18ct gold and decided it would be the perfect keepsack to remind her of Maddie, so she withdrew £7,950 from the fund and bought the keepsake to remind her of the passing time where she's seperated from her daughter, she also picked up a nice set of diamond earrings... as a pick me up.
That woman is SO STRONG

the fund was started to help in the search for Maddie. if the family and friends had not gone 'big' in the media then they wouldnt have the help they now have.

I'm sure many families who have lost children for whatever reason would be incapable through grief alone of doing what the McCann's have done.
Fair play to them if its genuine, but not everyone is equal.

In truth (and I hope) they will find her alive, at which point the McCanns will make a 'significant' donation to a charity, or charities, of their choice and retain some of the funds for Maddies medical treatment.
In reality this means they'll give 10K to charity and bank the rest, but it doesn't bother me as I'm not one of the idiots that donated... so its not MY money they'll waste.
Instead I donated £25 online to the NSPCC

They seemed to have used it for an extended jaunt around Europe to meet anyone willing to listen to their half cocked story! They are, by their own admission, devout something or others, I wonder what their chances of a personal meeting with the pope would have been if not for this incident!
Even this phone call is very odd. If it's true, the it is irresponsible to publish the info. If we can see this story on the internet, then so can the people are holding her. Surely a better tack would have been to keep it absolutley quiet unti lthey had followed it up or been contacted again.
Her captors would be well away by now once they got wind of this.
It's fast becoming a farce.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha, how exactly did it help the search for Maddie? Did they use it to pay the Portugese police? Did they have to pay the papers to get the story put in? Oh please!!!!!
