Sid, It's possible to love more than one person, if you are lacking something in relationship with your existing partner. It happens. Long term relationships go stale, and people start looking for some newness and some excitement elsewhere. After establishing physical relationship with someone else (who you really admire), you are bound to be in a right mess. You said you love your partner. You may have feelings for her after being with her for so many years, but you haven't got the sense of loyalty, respect and admiration for her anymore. If you did, you wouldn't have fallen like this for this new girl. You need to sit down and think, whether you do have sense of loyaly and respect for the "other" girl, or, is it just infatuiation? Then, you need to make up your mind which way you should go. Situation at the moment is fair for none of the three of you. There is nothing wrong or right in love, although it's wrong to hurt pepole. Your partner will be more hurt to find out, that you were carrying an affair behind her back.
I know of all sorts. People being forgiven after affairs, people leaving people after affairs (not necessarily things stay the same after the trust has been broken), people running back to their partners after joining the fancy bit etc. because they realised that deep down inside, they loved their partners. I know of a man in same situation as yours leaving his wife, living independently now; in order to carry on his relationship with the one he was having an affair with. He looks forward to move in with her soon. At least, he is not torn between two anymore. To clear up a few things... Am not bored in my relationship, just not sure its right. Cant speak for anyone else but didnt do this lightly. Never done it before. Will never do it again. There was a very long run up to it. She isnt just after no strings sex. She wants a relationship. She couldnt take me arsing her around any longer and thats why she ended it, not cause she didnt care.

Keep the replies coming. Make them private if you want. Stop the idiots having some smart **** reply to make!

I got bored reading the thread but thought I'd shove my two penneth in anyway!!!

I was married, things were terrible, had affair with nextdoor neighbour (hello Big_Dog!!!!!) and we got together. It's was an explosive, crazy relationship with more lows that highs (the highs were fantastic though!!!). Anyway, 4 years down the line, things were so bad we finished (we are still mates), I met my true soul mate at work and within a 18 months got married to him!

If you feel strongly about this girl then follow your heart. You may not end up with her but at least you will be happy for a time!!! Good luck!

 

I don't think its up to you where your relationship goes with your current girlfriend, its unfair to keep what you've done a secret from her, she has a right to know what you've done because she might not want to be with you anymore!! And I doubt you'll be able to keep this a secret forever, it will eat you up!!

I think its really selfish and unfair what you're doing and I know if I was in your current girlfriends shoe's I'd want to know!! You can't love her that much because you wouldn't have cheated on her in the first place, I know that because I could never cheat on my boyfriend because I love him to bits and it doesn't matter how attractive someone else is it wouldn't bother me, I'm very happy with my boyfriend so would not be in the sliest bit tempted to do the dirty on him!!
