Yeah i know buid cheap, build twice. I've been chatting to Len at subaru4you about the very subject. He can supply a new one for a reasonable price. Howeve I have been thinking about using an air-oil, oil cooler. As it doesnt seem to work out too much dearer. Have you had any experience? I.e size etc.
I reallise that it's going to be a pain when it comes to oil changes, but it's something I'd like to have as it's going to be used round the 'ring etc. and I want to keep temps down.

No personal experience as my car is a hillclimb car, but several cars have oil coolers, some mounted where the TMIC usually is, but those are long pipe runs.
I know Powerstation ran a cooler in the front wing on their TA car.
You could ring Rich at Powerstation.
I think Pace and Forge make the parts you need.

Change the oil pump, thats the one thing not to cut corners on and you must change the modine as well. Std comp is 8 to 1 btw but 8.5 will make a good responsive engine if a little fussy on fuel quality depending on how its been mapped and for what.

Replacing with a sandwich plate and a front mounted jobbie
After talking to Len at Subaru4you, I have discovered that the automatic radiator comes with the gearbox oil cooler built in. This can be addapted for this application

Sorted out what pistons I'm going to use. Being the Mahle Powerpak pistons supplied by Subaru4You. They have been sent to my engineers to have the re-bore done and have each bore to be specifically honed for each individual piston. Just got to get the block modified to accept the V9 crank and bearings then it'll be all systems go!
