Thanx Darren. Found the prime problem - broken airflow meter. Lucky really. It made the car run very rich, which accounted for the shuddering and misfiring. As we had to turn the boost down, the car probably had 300bhp or less on the day, which explains alot. Happens alot on Scoobies I understand, but usually they go lean - which leads to engine pop! Mine went rich thankfully. Unusual problem for EVOs - and expensive to replace (damn!)
Car is being fettled now, and new turbo put on - hopefully 450bhp will be a reality in feb. Not sure what happened to the rear springs, never happened before. Might be related to the new rear anti roll bar. Anyway, helper springs are the order of the day there! Merry xmas.
