evo lancer 2
I must admit i've been looking at the 4's a lot lately - this crank walk is a big concern though. Is it a dead cert it happens or just one of those "**** - i picked a crap car at point of sale " happenings?
I wouldn’t even bother with a evo IV or V they are way over priced for a ten year old car, and as for the 1 2 and 3 there just scrap unless a real enthusiast has owned them, having owned a evo IV for one year i should know, it cost me 4500 pounds in maintenance and 7500 original cost, i would most defiantly say your better off buying a evo 7 or 8 with low miles it will cost you less in the long run for sure you you will have a better newer car to show for it.
..and as for crankwalk and tales of horror with the engine on the evo..buy a 3 grand wrx instead and have piston slap to die for and diff whine like a banshee. on scoobynet don't expect a reply without at least 5 bell ends chiming in saying anything other than a subaru is ****.
the early models prob are a better drivers car but unless its done hardly any miles and is as new id steer clear unless everything has been rebuilt.
there was lots of tears flooding the mlr with engine and tranny problems from early models.
people think "oooh i can afford a evo 2 or 3" until the engine pops a week after they bought it.
deffo not a car if you on a budget.
a evo 6 came in for mot the other day and i cant belive how dated and ugly it was after owning my scoob for a few months.
ayc= fun killer.

My brother owned and evo IV for 2 years and never had any problems, like any car keep it well maintained and you should not have to many probs. Make sure you have a good look around evo 2/3s you look at, as a lot of them have found their way into the lower end of the food chain's hands and are utter sheds.
Not the best looking cars imo, but its what you think that matters

BTW heres the fastest early Evo at the moment, docile
YouTube - Docile
8.23 @ 179mph . tubed front end.
will be 7's this year.
APC's have some quick ones to YouTube - APC Evo drag car in car footage
Plenty of tuning for these cars, you just need to look at the USA(DSM's) for cheap quality stuff although more stuff is starting to be available in this country

And in the traffic round here you wouldn't get past a 2cv
