Yep we're on the blunsdon exchange, so no hope of adsl. I'll try it during the day tomorrow (I'm working from home) and see if it's any better. Methinks something fishy is going on...

I'm not sure if its more of an issue with Speedtest.net as I have just tested four times and got quite different results each time. Try the Dublin server instead.

Yup, I'm with you on the fishy thoughts - very odd - I'm also at home tomorrow morning and will be trying the very same.

Dire results from all-over using Speedtest.net at the moment... about 1Mb from anywhere, except NL which seems to get about 0.5Mb.

If I can dig out a free phone number (VM landline as well) to call the robbing sods on I may well have a moan.....

How can VM restrict my service to 1MB when I'm paying for a 4MB service?

Hmm, I'm now getting about 2000 to London, and 8500 to Dublin !!

I'm getting a better (double) score from Baku in Azerbaijan than from London 80 miles down the road.

Heres the lcing, its not a CAP as a CAP is a limit and you can continue to download but at a reduced speed as already mentioned in your terms and conditions !

I'm back up to 8500 to London this morning. Seems to be fluctuating wildly...

My connection was awful yesterday when I put the PC on at 5pm. had to wait til about 9pm before I got it up and running again with decent speeds. downloaded 2 films and 2 music albums but dont know how long it took as I just left the PC on over night and went to bed.

Not happy about this news though, another reason to leave but dont know of any other broadband supplier thats not going to cap me. Its the only reason Im still with NTL tbh.

It does fluctuate wildly. I get over 15000kb/s at the London server on speedetest.net early mornings,a bout 07:30. After 16:30 I'm lucky to get 2000kb/s,a nd thast with the Pc being turned off all day as well.

Don't know what Virgin are trying to implement here, but it aint working!

Damn awful ping to London.... but bandwidth appears to have returned to 'normal'...

...but Dublin appears to be as good as dead this morning.... 269ms ping and about 1.5Mbps....
