Another big motorway smash...HGV's to blame again..
James are you now not trolling on this thread (by your own interpretation that is)
Seeing as though you have never contributed to it up until Chip getting banned, and have got yourself banned and issued out more infractions ?

you certainly do have a set of double standards.. its ok for you to lower the standard against anyone , but if anyone even remotelt upsets youer equilibrium, well...............
At the risk of getting this thread back on track...
Everyone here, Scooby driver or not, will pass hundreds of HGVs on many journeys. The fact that people here have had bad experiences with HGVs does not mean that all HGV drivers are ar5eholes. With any group in society, you will get bad apples. People are too quick to condemn all HGV drivers because of a few incidents. How many times have you been in a dodgy situation caused by a car driver? Many more than with HGVs I would venture, but an close call with an HGV is understandably more memorable than any incident with another car.
As an HGV 1 (C+E) licence holder, I reported an HGV driver who almost killed me on the A404(M). He was a total tosser and I hope he got disciplined severely. That does not mean all HGVs are driven by tossers for crying out loud.

I've been on this site for 5 years or so (originally on a different ident, laptop was nicked and just started again) and this sort of stuff just shows how it's going downhill.
People banned for expressing their own opinion, what a ******* joke.
Nothing offensive, nothing racist, just banter. Isn't that the whole point of a "forum" - to express different views?

only last week I reported a class 1 driver who was making a coffee with a kettle and milk etc whist driving
the lady on the "hows my driving" number thought I was joking. he nearly took me and about 20 cars out
when people make comments about all lorry drivers it really gets my goat!!! you are basically saying I am the same as that idiot. I cant and wont ever accept that. sorry
Nido I have to ban you for that comment. sorry

The infraction system is not there for you to get rid of people you disagree with; it's there for some of us to remove undesirable members of the site. Your personal feelings shouldn't come into it. Chip is an insightful, no bullsh1t, witty contributor to this forum, and your banning of him is an utter farce.
The majority of crashes involving HGVs are the fault of a car driver.
People in cars seem to think that lorries can stop in the same distance that they can. You wouldn't believe the stupid things that car drivers do around lorries. Also, statistically, lorries have far less accidents than cars per mile driven.
Just try driving a lorry before you lump them all as idiots. Admittedly there is an issue with some foreign drivers, but most driving agencies have a written test and a driving assessment before letting them loose in an HGV.

If the lorry driver wasn't tailgating and bullying the car in front (and I don't mean all drivers) they'd have the time to react. I've seen far too many Lorry drivers bullying car drivers by tailgating them and intimidating them. I know not all lorry drivers are like that but the few that do give you all a bad name

It's people like you James that make me sit back and realise that not all lorry drivers are bad because you are always fighting your corner.
I would still like to know who infracted me for abuse of the infraction system as Im not even a plus member
Not like they will own up or anything
My comments in this thread re: HGV drivers is based upon experience and largely a very high number of Drivers shouldnt be allowed out on the road IMHO,

Please tell me this is a wind up

No, not a wind up. Lorry drivers have to be more alert than any other driver on the road. They can also see over the top of any car that has decided to pull right in front of them. Again, I ask what sane person would (regardless of the stupidity of a lorry driver tailgating them) would choose to let a lorry tailgate them?
FFS, if you aren't prepared to do more than 56mph on a motorway, methinks its time for you to stop driving on the motorway.

I agree with you steve, as a lorry driver I see a lot more of it than you ever will.
I just wont accept comments such as all lorry drivers are fat and lazy and stupid. thats wrong and very unfair.
im quite slim, I do on average 14 hours a day so not lazy, and I am clever, well above average actually

I have to travel at the same speed as they do, you can get out of the way of it. I am stuck there. I hate it when they sit on the back doors its all very un-nerving. I just end up slowing down to get them passed, but you can only do it so many times without falling massively behind.

Children, please, it's bank holiday weekend.
Fact of the matter, as I see it, is this:
SOME HGV drivers are very good at what they do and considerate to other road users.
SOME others, blatantly are not.
I see no reason that this thread should have denegrated into the slanging match it seems to be.
