Isnt bio based in 1949?

Seemed ok but nothing new and nothing special, i've hit people in the face with pipes n wrenches in half-life, fear, condemned, painseeker, prey, etc etc.

The graphics are what you'd expect from a nextgen and certainly nothing outstanding, as for water, these days it's mostly generated by the gfx card (and prebuilt dx libraries etc) and requires little programming, you'll be hard pressed to find a new 360 game with bad water, checkout the fatal inerta demo for proof.

Unless the online play is any good then this will be a rental game.

Just my opinion

Well the impression I got from it is how rich the game will be in how you can play it. The array of weapon options should make for numerous ways to kill things. I love how you can use the electric shock on the water to electrocute things. The mood the game creates provides superb tension. The bit right at the end of the demo (medicentre) reminded me of a bit from lost when they find the 2nd hatch.

Just to correct my above post, apparently there is no online play.

Also dunno how much truth is in this but the word is the demo is a custom level built specifically as a demo

I'm not fussed about online play if they've put all the effort into making it a stonking single player game. Sometimes the main game loses out due to the multiplayer side.

The Demo certainly feels that way. It feels like an introduction to it all. I guess the opening level would be very similar though.

1960, it was built earlier though.

I do like the way you can hack the cameras and flying things and the way the hacking is done is very good imo.

As you said it's your opinion (and entitled to it ) as i thought Gears of War was so boring (which seems to go against the trend) and anyone who said so got told have you played the online.

Morning Guys,

Never really got into Bioshock but am a bit more tempted the more I see and hear about it. What type of game is it? and how does it play. I'm a big Xbox360 fan. Got all the "good games" but harly the time to play them

It's a first person RPG'ish shooter that is very atmospheric.
Download the demo and see.

No can do at the mo as my Xbox360 won't seem to pick up a IP address. I need to get a friend round to possibily create another IP address as thats what worked before with my old xbox.

I'm debating whether to buy Bioshock for my PC or to buy an XBox360 to play it on?

I'm about to upgrade my PC to quad-core and a nice 3D card, and I prefer playing an FPS on a PC (as the mouse + keyboard combo works a treat)

Alternatively I could buy an Xbox360 knowing there's some games coming out around Christmas I could buy for it. To be honest, I wanted to wait til they sorted the ring of death issues - is the improved version on sale in the UK yet with the 65nm chips and upgraded heatsink(s) ? I believe the codename is "Zephyr" ?

I've got quad core and a nice gfx card so i might give it a go see how it looks, and should play better on mouse.

As for the improved 360's there are some on sale with altered heatsinks, not sure about the 65n chips yet, however it will still be hit and miss depending on how long stocks been sitting on the shelf as to what you'd currently get.

I enjoyed it, but I got the impression that by the time you've reached the latter stages of the game you'll be sick to death of Rapture's architectural style.

I hope they find some way to vary the scenery otherwise I think it'll be quite monotonous, so here's hoping there's some innovative gameplay. I think the setting is the only thing that sets it apart from other shooters to be honest - the whole plasmid thing made me think I was casting spells in Oblivion again.

yeah, hopefully they'll reflect it on the sticker - currently you can examine the box which tells you which revision motherboard it has - eg. "Zephyr" tells you it has the Elite's motherboard with improved heatsink and HDMI. Maybe's they'll use something additional to denounce 65nm ?

The 65 chips codename is "Falcon"

The 360's that have the HDMI port have it written on the box, "HDMI port" is written in the list of contents thats included in the box.

Think I'm gonna hold off getting Bioshock for the time being, supposed to be picking up my PS3 tomorrow and I reckon that might keep me occupied until Halo 3 & PGR4 appear.

Looks a decent game but it'll be half price on ebay in about a month...
