VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR GOODYEAR F1 USERS.

FYI - I too am concerned about the construction of 'China' tyres' vs 'Germany' tyres - look at these pictures of the sidewalls...
GSD3s from china are constructed (Polyester, no Rayon)
and GSD3s from Germany are constructed thus (Rayon, no Polyester); these are two separate sets in different sizes.
and
I am very unhappy that Goodyear can produce the 'same' tyre, but made from different materials.
Please check your sidewalls and let me know what you think.

I emailed said dealer on Friday asking him to ring me about Goodyear F1 GSD3 tyres, I didn't say why was just an enquiry. He rang this morning 9.30 sharp (obviously hoping for a sale) Then i kicked him sharp between the legs of why had he sold me two illegal tyres for this market, He seemed a bit shocked and promised to come back to me, I rang him back at 4pm and asked why he hadn't returned my call his colleague answered the call and said "Oh is this about the replacements?" Result i thought! But he explained that he is waiting for Goodyear to come back to him and clarify the situation. When i ring tomorow i'll tell him my next call will be to trading standards if i don't start getting answers.

EventMobileTyres changed mine without question. Its in their best interests not supply illegal tyres, particularly when they have been found out. My local area guy reckons he has only one other set of non'E' marked ones but I seriously doubt this.
Contact trading standards and the supplier again.
Its not acceptable to be driving round on non-approved tyres.

Same with toyo's t1's are different compound in europe to the uk, mainly due to slat conditions in winter, most dodgy ones apear on ebay or are very very cheap.
make sure when you buy them they are definate UK spec ones, should have the british standard kite mark on them

Just had Trading Standards call me. They will be working with VOSA to try and resolve. I suggested a product recall, which they said could be possible if more people contacted them (apparantly I'm the only one).
Please contact Trading Standards if you have non 'E' marked tyres supplied (details on post 1).

I'm a bit concerned about my Eagle F1s. All four are German with the correct E code with 83Y rating. All four have bad sidewall splits. Not sure I have the confidence to go for another set of F1s. Is the 83Y rating correct? I was never given an option of a different rating therefore assumed they would be the right tyre. Has anyone given a reason for the splits and is this a manufacturing problem or is this tyre the wrong rating?
Anyone know?

87, 88, and 90 were the required load ratings in 2002 depending on model, so 83 sounds low. I have F1's rated at 91 = extra load (215 45 17). F1 sizes HTH. New asymmetrics available in this load rating too

I've just changed all 4 Eagle F1s. They were all made in Germany with the correct code numbers. They all had bad splits, some being on the inside and difficult to see. The splits had a depth of about 4mm and varied in length. Some were about 6 or 7 inches long. Quite alarming really.

Event tyre's have replaced the two tyre's manufactured in Thailand without E numbers today FOC. He did start to tell me that the E numbers would be on the inside of the tyres but when he removed the wheel it wasn't, So he just replaced the pair.

Sorry not my experience. These are the best tyres I've had bar none and I've tried a few.
