No Elmer; domestic means the manufacturer's home market.

Subaru are a Japanese company/brand so their only possible domestic market is their home market: hence the term Japanese domestic market. They can not have a European nor a United States domestic market, Japan is their domestic market... Think about it and then stop repeating things that you dont really understand.

Ignorance is Strength!
SOA (Subaru of America) have a fine factory in Indiana, which doles out many cars for the domestic US market.
If 'domestic' was assigned to the manufacturer, the J part could be left out of JDM for example, as every Subaru would be JDM.

The new impreza will be built by that Indiana factory, with the saloon being exclusively built there. Hence the sedan being referred to as a USDM model.

dictionary.com - domestic
something produced or manufactured in one's own country.

It makes no matter where it is manufactured. I will explain again for the hard-of-thinking: as a Japanese company, Subaru's domestic market is IN JAPAN! USDM is an ignorantly created, foolishly perpetuated misnomer.

Now; who says that SN hasnt dumbed-down?

So dictionary.com is wrong and you are right?

Lets not dumb down the place too much. Perhaps you should look up the meaning of big words before using them.

It's not that bad looking either.

Given the tiny numbers that Subaru sells to, they need something with mass market appeal.
This car will do the job, and like porsche with the their 4x4, the success of this car will plough money back in to better STI varients, and better cars overall.

Subaru are in business to make money, and keeping a few people is a car forum happy is not the best way of doing it.

I suspect that their dropping the wrx for a time, is a way to stop chav's getting their hands on them, who seem intent on damaging the brand for all.
They'll have draw a bit more dole to get a new STI...

In trying to be clever youve shown yourself right up; havent you? cannyboy, you just arent clever enough. All that dictionary.com can do is provide you with a definition and the correct spelling, they rely on you having the wit to understand the definition; let me help by making it really f*cking simple.

Subaru
Japanese company
Domestic market ("their own country") = Japan

If ignorance really is strength, then ScoobyNet must be f*cking unstoppable!

Urban Dictionary: USDM

Perhaps you should invent your own language, where you can feel free to define worlds as you like.

Most people use english here, and word definitions of a language are described in a thing called a dictionary.

Perhaps it time you went outside for some fresh air. Although, if it gets your knickers in a bunch, I actually have a usdm parked outside my door now...

You're so tough with that keyboard of yours....

Pity the link between your brain and that keyboard seems to have a loose connection.
