With bugeye on EXE TC and White line ARB's plus an anti lift kit, car firmly planted. Tried My RA with the original Ohlins and had the same prolem as last year. I think the dampers and springs were too hard, great on a race track but deadly on a bumpy sprint track....just a thought.

I think more progressive/compliant springs, firm but not too hard dampers and hard rear ARB works for me. I am two seconds faster with less power and 300KG more weight. It's all in the suspension.

That car of yours looks bloody quick out of the blocks!

Rob, £6K buys you a sequential box mate?

John

I have about 6 quid John what can I get for that?

I'm at Harewood the weekend of the double lapper so won't be able to compete but I do intend to go back soon.

Gav was very quick indeed, great close racing I'm sure he can do some damage at the double lapper. Let me know how it goes.

How about a beer to go with dinner tomorrow in the pub at Stockton.

See link.

Coventry & Warwickshire Motor Club

Fancy the ride out?

I will be there, it see's over 100+ cars if the weather's any good.

I won the award last year for best competition car with the Range rover race buggy thing. (its being re painted so will not be taking it). I will put the Scooby in for the fun of it.

2 records for mod prod there, the A meet mod prod record.......
Record: Tim Coventry – Westfield S Eight 5300 cc Time 58.17, 6 Jul 1997

And the B meets....
Record: Simon Bainbridge - Audi S2 Coupe 2226T cc Time 59.32, 18 September 2004

I was speaking to the instructor and he reckons the tim coventry time will never be broken as it was a mental car which was really didn't belong in mod prod. The Audi one is some 600+bhp race car and driver so I'm told but still mental fast. They don't seperate sports and saloon cars up there either.

I have only ever been once, earlier this year and did a 63.31, it was one of the first outings for the car and was a bit of a night mare on the handling side so I hope to take a healthy chunk out of that this visit, not sure about getting near those records though, it's the only place I have driven and thought I could never beat the record.

Given the state of the slicks I was on in vs his much wider rubber, sequential box and 10 mph faster than me over the line on a track that is a 1/3rd straight I'd say it was a pretty level playing field John, but cheers for the input.

Rob:

All 4 of my slicks were that 'profile' after 1/2 way through the season, and mine were crossplies and yours radials.

Must be the geometry of the cars?

Racing the 911 at Epynt as the Impreza now sold.
Same class though.

You could easy take the class if dry against the Darrian.
iirc he ran about 59 secs eventually. My class winning best was 61.94 I think.

Hope there is enough fuel in Wales!
See you sunday. You will love this hill, be ready for 6th over the back straight...

I think it was, white RA, it was very hot that day, we were next to each other in the paddock.

The Bugeye is going great in the road class. I have had 5 class wins this year from 5 events.

I won the AWMMC championship the last two seasons and am hoping for three in a row.

Next year I am going to enter a bigger championship and see how I get on with the big boys.....probably going to get snotted!

A few mods then, you need to ask a pro as I can only suggest simple stuff which you already seem to have covered.

Maybe the geom' but it only happens on my fronts which makes me think its the weight of the front causing the tall profile tyre wall to collapse under it's self in corners. I'm gonna try and get in touch with Avon maybe send a tyre to them for their input.

Well done on the sale.

I don't think anything will be easy I can just give it my best, I really do hope it stays dry though.

If I need 6th I'll be the wrong side of 130mph!!!

I'm looking forward to it.

Congrats on the sale Graham. The Darrian only did a 59 sec run on the 3rd run which didn't count, so the official hill record is still >60 secs.

I wish I was able to spectate at the last corner on Sunday, it would be interesting to see the really quick boys having to stand it on it's nose from >100mph to take a first gear corner ! Never mind, I'll be driving instead

Wouldn't 3 practice then 2 competetive runs be a better format for an event which runs only once a year to give the new visitors a chance to get upto speed? A final run which doesn't count seems like a bit of a waste.

Last year was the first time it ran and there were a few delays in the morning with an unserviceable rescue vehicle and people not in the right place at the right time for practice to start promptly. Because we wanted to start the competitive runs in the afternoon on time we decided to stick to 2 practices in the morning (plus one drive through). It all went smoothly so a third, non-counting run was given in the afternoon.

Looking at the regs it seems they are planning the same this Sunday, but I'll have a word with the organisers tomorrow and suggest that 3 practice runs (if possible) would be preferred to offering an uncounting 3rd run in the afternoon. All the practice runs are in competitor number order, so I can see a problem with trying to offer a 3rd run in the morning. As there is no mechanism in place for offering a 3rd run to a limited number of competitors (as per Shelsley etc) then you would have to offer runs to all 80 competitors. The track licence currently doesn't permit as many cars on track as the establish hill climb venues so timing is a problem.

You guys must be psychic, it's in the first bulletin, but will only happen as a third practice run if there are no delays.

The third runs iirc were a set of fun runs, but i had to get home so missed then as I was changing wheels as ever.

Hope the weather will be kind.

911 all packed and ready, so much looking forward to this one.

You are in with an FTD chance Rob.

See you all there.
