yep I did mean 306, the "3" key is right next to the "2" key. Unlike "e" and "h", for example.

"cheap for a reason" perhaps, but there's plenty of French cars which stats show to be at least as reliable as certain "semi-prestige" type makes (some German cars for example). Build quality is not top drawer, but the 306s hold together at least as well as several of the alternatives, and also classic Subarus.

I love Mondeos. The only thing I honestly feel you miss compared with much "better" cars is acceleration, and even as a self confessed modded turbo junkie that is a pretty one dimensional experience.

You wouldn't miss out on (and would probably gain) refinement, ride quality, gearchange slickness, steering feel, brakes (relative to performance), balance, seats, luggage space, useful equipment in any major way.

You'd gain with more fun at road legal speeds, dirt cheap running costs, very easy parts and servicing, a better image than most German stuff or Jap madness (the car snobs won't understand that understated is cooler, says the Evo driver LOL).

It is a truly anonymous car that is brilliant as an all rounder and huge fun.

Mondeo or Primera - both are cheap, reliable and enormous fun to those who appreciate handling over "grip"
